Japan Crate aims to send candy that is fun and exclusively available in Japan. Now, this box actually SHIPS from Japan!

There are 3 different subscription levels available: The Mini includes 5 items, the Original includes those items PLUS another 5 items, and the Premium includes those 10 items PLUS another 5 items. This month I am reviewing the Premium box!

So pretty! So shiny! This box is a color explosion!

There was a Manga-zine that lists the contents of the box and other info. The cover included references to some of the snacks! This month’s theme is All Stars 3 Year Anniversary!

Japan Crate lists the snacks for all three box sizes plus gives a little info on what’s going on in Japan that month.

Everything in the box! Japan Crate always manages to put together a colorful box. My 13-year-old daughter especially loves this box and helped me test the snacks.

Mike Popcorn Noodle Broth Base Flavor has a flavor that I can’t quite describe. Salty, umami, a tad sweet, just overall different, which in this case is pretty nice!

7 Stick is a wafer cookie with a creamy sweet milk flavor, although it doesn’t ooze out like the picture above.

Yaokin Grape Gummies are grape shaped gummies that have that classic fake grape flavor.

Coris Fue Ramune are Lifesaver shaped candies that are hard at first but quickly dissolve. They are ramune flavored, which is lemon lime soda flavored, and if you place it between your lips you can use it like a whistle! There was a bonus toy inside, too. Puchi Puchi Uranai Chocolate Strawberry are little white chocolate candies with a strawberry flavor that you can pop out of the foil.

Chip Star Seaweed Salt are almost exactly like a Pringles chip, except these are seaweed flavor and they are less greasy and less salty. The seaweed flavor is so faint that I didn’t even taste it.

Befco Bakauke Seaweed is a crispy rice cracker with a soy sauce and seaweed flavor and I really liked this snack! The seaweed wasn’t overpowering but it was definitely there.

Super Mario Mega Gummies are the DIY kit of the month.

The contents included a plastic tray, a water dropper, and 4 packets of fruit and cola flavored powders.

Karina poured the powders into the mold, added water, and waited for it to solidify.

Success! The candies were just like gummies and Karina enjoyed this kit better than any she has tried in the past year!

Hi-Chew Shizuoka Crown Melon is a chewy fruit candy with a milky consistency and accurate honeydew flavor! Biroroon Pop is similar to a Ring Pop but looks even sillier, if that is possible!

Instead of a traditional oversize ring it looks like a spring! Karina said it fits better than a Ring Pop and has a sweet green apple flavor.

Fanta Kiwi + E is the soda of the month. I am not usually a fan of kiwi flavored foods (although I love actual kiwi fruit) but the flavor was fruity and mild, not overly sweet, and super fizzy. Perfect for a hot summer day.

Tsunaage Arare: French Dressing is supposed to taste like French dressing! Instead it is really crunchy, slightly salty, and reminded me of a cheeseless Cheeto. Karina said it reminded her of Bugles. Either way, it was tasty.

Kawarimi Guogyo Gum has four sticks of super soft gum in four different flavors so you can mix and match to make your own custom blend. I mixed peach and yogurt flavors to make a smoothie flavored gum!

Blueberry and Strawberry Nodo Ame are individually wrapped hard candies in two summer berry flavors. They double as throat soothers and even contain vitamin A!

The bonus item this month is a pen that has four different ink colors and even comes in a handy necklace form. The character is from a popular manga series called One Piece. I think they are pirates of some sort. I am now on my own quest to find a Jack Sparrow pen necklace. Wish me luck.

This was one of the best Japan Crates we have received, and no wonder, it was their 3 year anniversary! There were items we enjoyed from previous boxes, but in different flavors, plus the variety was outstanding. I had a hard time finding this stuff online too, so they delivered on the exclusive part this month! I wouldn’t expect to find any chocolate treats until summer is over so I am glad Japan Crate took that into consideration while curating the box.

What item do you want to try from this month’s Japan Crate? Let me know in the comments!
