Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription – get five makeup, beauty, skincare, and haircare items in a cute bag for $10 a month! It’s the most popular subscription box and a great way to sample new colors and beauty brands.

There are three bag variations this month. We got the Good Vibes Only bag!

We created three unique August Glam Bags, inspired by sparkly summer sunsets, the magic of the universe, and free spirits everywhere. We hope it fills your world with good vibes and inspires you to spread them around all month long.

This month, our bag came with Lavish Life – an Ipsy magazine.

They have a new Ipsy Cash program at ipsy.com/cash, that’s sort of like ebates. FYI – there is a $25 minimum cashout, which I have heard isn’t well disclosed and some are upset about.

We took a bunch of photos in case you’re interested in what’s in the mailer.

Everything in my August bag. There are many bag variations every month for ipsy –  log in to your account to check out how-to videos and tips for your products. They’ve also started emailing out product information and tips from their influencers!

Glamour Dolls Romantic Rose Brush ($3.99) This synthetic hair brush is cruelty-free and vegan, and tapered for contouring the eye. It’s pink-tipped, so perfect!

Paula Dorf Mini Universal Brow Pencil in Taupe ($9.09) Paula Dorf doesn’t make a brow pencil, so I based the price on this eyeliner. This goes on smoothly (maybe a little too smoothly, I am not sure it’s dry/waxy enough for brows) and has a nice neutral brown color.

First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay ($5.10) This gel cleanser is red! It foams up and washing away impurities while absorbing oil and unclogging pores. Thrilled to see First Aid Beauty in my bag – I have a mini-obsession right now!

Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash Arresting Volume Mascara ($7.35)

I don’t give a lot of credence to makeup packaging copy but… what they promise is true! The mascara wand really does reach every lash and my results were pretty similar to what was shown!

It’s about 1/3 full size – bummer it’s not larger, because I really liked this one!

Can you tell my husband took this picture? Apologies for the massive glop of mascara on this photo!

Pacifica Beauty Coconut Blush Duo ($24?) FYI – this exact duo isn’t available online and appears to be manufactured for ipsy.

This brand is 100% vegan and the shades featured here are Beaming & Tenderheart.

I wasn’t super impressed with this formula – it seemed linty to me with a lot of fallout and I suspect that the formula isn’t the retail formula. A few years ago we got these terribly unpigmented shadows from Pacifica in ipsy and I was convinced their makeup line was terrible (and I love their fragrance line) – until I received the retail version in a Popsugar box. Then I was converted. I don’t think Pacifica does itself any favors to send out lower quality formulas (again just conjecturing) in ipsy – especially since this duo is GIANT! FYI – there’s a mirror on the back of this duo too, which is neat.

I estimated the value of my bag this month at around $49.50 – but frankly half the value was in a subpar quality product, so I wasn’t really thrilled. However, if the blush works for you, I’m sure you’ll be over the moon with your bag!

What did you get in your Ipsy this month?

I’ve been getting Ipsy for a few years now and it never disappoints me. Plus you get a cute makeup bag. I pass them along to family if I don’t need it. You get points for reviewing the products you receive to turn into another sample product.

I got the Peace, Love, Lipstick, and I loved the design! It’s contents, not so much… I got the Make Up Forever mascara, as well, and I liked it. I got the Steve Laurent eyeliner which was ok. The Hikari, bronzer was too shimmery for my taste. The Aurora Concealer was not impressive. And, the La Botica face masks were nice. You can’t really go wrong with face masks.

I also received the blush duo and I think your assessment is right on. I own several Pacifica palettes and am very happy with the formulas and application of those shadows/blushes. I was surprised and disappointed in the low quality of this duo. It is very drying on my skin and the fallout is ridiculous. I wish they had stuck with their usual ingredients.
