This month’s featured island is Trinidad. I like the facts because it rounds out the entire experience of trying new foods and getting a better knowledge of the world.

Learning new words is always so much fun. I called my husband doux doux and he looked at me like I was a crazy lady making up my own words. We had a good laugh once I revealed the meaning of the word.

Chee Zeez in Jalapeno. These crunchy cheese flavored snacks were wonderful, the jalapeno flavor added a nice little kick. It was almost like eating a jalapeno popper. I may have only shared a few with my family… I’m stingy with good food.

St. Mary’s Banana Chips. I liked the crunch but I was so sad these weren’t as sweet as a regular banana. These are not the same chips I find in my trail mix, but still a great little snack.

Wibisco Shirley Biscuits. Shortbread cookies are a weakness of mine, these are melt in your mouth good. I also like the village scene on the biscuit, super cute.

National Tea Biscuits. This was a little dry and too bland for my taste but I’m sure there has to be a perfect pairing to go with this treat. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t try them again even if I could pair them with something to make it amazing. I’m kind of a one strike you’re out girl.

National Cheez Trix. These might be better than Cheetos and a whole lot cheesier. I got to have just a taste as my husband claimed them as his prize for surviving the work day.

Jamaican Choice Plantain Chips. These were a little bit sweeter than the banana chips but still not my favorite. I could learn to like them with a chocolate dip.

Sunshine Snacks Caramel Crunch. Sweet, crunchy and a little bit salty this is the greatest snacking trifecta ever. So much better than fiddle faddle or Cracker Jacks, this might be my favorite treat from this box.

National Vanilla Sandwich Cookies. What’s not to like about a cookie with cream filling? Nothing, this cookie was great and just a reminder that every country has some similar foods.

Devon Chocolate Digestive. It’s a biscuit dipped in chocolate, but the name really threw me and I couldn’t even try it. My husband said it was a bit dry but okay.

Catch. A caramel and crisped rice candy bar in milk chocolate. So good but so rich… we shared it and still struggled to finish the entire thing.

National Ginger Biscuits. These just solidified my dislike for ginger. The only nice thing was they were a little bit softer than the other biscuits I got to try.

Tasty Island Crate is amazing. I got some new knowledge of the world I live in and got to taste some unique foods. My favorite was the Chee Zees, a little spice and a lot of cheese always makes me a happy girl. I was very surprised to find how many of these treats have a similar American counterpart. It blows my mind just how small the world is when you can get all the goodies from around the world delivered to your front door. I can’t wait to see what Caribbean island will be featured next.
