This month’s box features products from LXMI! LXMI is named after a Hindu goddess and is pronounced “luxe-me.”

LXMI is based in San Francisco and offers only two products right now and both items feature Nilotica Reserve, a rare relative of shea with a luxurious texture.

Nilotica is pressed into a soft butter (vs. other botanicals that are typically pressed into an oil). The microcrystals found in the Pure Nilotica Melt will dissolve on your skin, and prove that the nuts were cold-pressed in temperate Uganda v. refrigerated lab conditions. Like imperfections in raw silk, they reflect the unprocessed nature of Nilotica Reserve™.

The information card is full of details such as the item, price, description, and #pearltips.

Here are the items in the July Pearlesque Box!

The packaging was informative and I could tell that this was going to be something special.

There was even a number on the inside so I could see when my product was made and where my product was from and named the women who harvested the ingredients.

The corner of the box had a copper topped stick which I thought was decoration at first but soon learned more.

Pure Nilotica Melt ($48) “Ultra-Hydrating Facial Balm to Transform Dry, Damaged Skin.” They weren’t kidding when they said this is ultra-hydrating! The single ingredient in this formula is pure Nilotica and it has a light nutty scent similar to shea butter.

The copper headed ball thingy is an applicator! I stirred the product around with the ball before using it to apply the melt to my skin. It turns out the other end of the stick is the scoop, and the ball is the perfect size and shape to help get the balm under my eyes.

The cream quickly melted upon application and I used way too much the first time, or so I thought. I was kind of greasy, but then when I watched a video on the LXMI website it showed the model looking very shiny before bed but I ended up using a tissue to wipe some of it off since I sleep on my stomach and didn’t want to ruin my pillowcase. I have dry skin and this product is perfect for dry, normal, or sensitive skin. If you have oily skin I would suggest using a tiny amount at first, or using on drier parts of the body. I was rubbing the leftovers on my neck, chest, elbows, and arms.

The second product was packaged the same way as the first, and had its own harvest number.

Crème Du Nil ($58) “Decadent Daily Moisturizer to Hydrate Skin and Diminish Pores.” This cream has quite a few ingredients, but the second one listed is Nilotica Reserve. It is not as “moist” as the one above but still leaves skin super soft and moisturized.

You can see that this one is in cream form and just a little goes a long way. I will probably use this one in the morning and save the melt for the evening. My makeup went on smoothly and yet I’m not greasy at all. Both of these products would be wonderful for dry winter skin, too. The cream had a very light scent that reminded me of wet hay, but it wasn’t offensive and it faded very quickly. Note: I did notice the word “squalane” on the ingredients list for the cream but verified that it is from plant and not animal origin (save the sharks!) and both of these products are vegan, cruelty-free, and organic.

It looks like two’s company for LXMI, although I have the feeling they may add more products to their line in the future. I am happy to know that LXMI is helping provide impoverished women with a living wage. Pearlesque Box is one of my favorite subscriptions and I love the full-sizes and overall lusciousness of the items I have received. The value of July’s box is $106 and both of these items are highly rated on Sephora.com!

Head’s up: August’s Pearlesque Box will feature items from OSEA!
