Green Kid Crafts is a subscription box that sends 5-8 themed projects made with eco-friendly materials to your home every month. The boxes contain hands-on explorations in science, math, technology, engineering and art that are intended to challenge children from 3-10 years of age.

June’s theme is Ocean Science.

My youngest son just did an ocean lesson the last couple of weeks of school so he was stoked when we opened this box up.

New bag!  I don’t know if this is due to being ocean and the paper being more eco friendly or what but I love these bags. I would love to see these in our boxes every month.

First one up for us was the sea-life rescue and the glowing jellyfish.

We made out jellyfish with glow bracelets, bags, and water.

We had to take them into the bathroom with the lights off so we could see them glow. My son said this was “so cool.”

This one also had a fishing project in it. My neighbor helped my son cut out all the fish and create his fishing rod.  They were being a bit creative and that blue one is a whale with a unicorn horn.

Next up is the Coral Reef Bubble Painting. I was super excited for this one since I love using inks in crafts and this is something I would totally try out on my own. I will say this is a very messy craft and we grabbed another box I had here to help contain it a bit but we will be doing this one again just maybe outside next time.

You make the ink mixture with ink, water, and kitchen soap and then you blow bubbles and touch your paper to them.

I’ll admit I was a bit worried about this one when we started but WOW they turned out amazing. I can’t wait to take these and turn them into backgrounds for cards to send to people. My son is excited that he made papers like mommy does and he says he’s going to mail the cards we make.

The final project is oil spill science and motion ocean. We are keeping the oil spill for another day but the motion ocean is really cute. The bottle gets added with some coloring and water and then the goodies. You just shake them up and watch them float around. It’s really cute.

We loved our Green Kid Crafts box again this month. My boys and neighbor had a great time talking about and crafting these projects. I loved listen to them all talk about what they had learned in school about the different subjects and to see what they came up with. I love working in some learning while they are having fun. It makes things so much easier. I can’t wait to see what they have next month.
