The GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box is a subscription that sends 4-5 handcrafted products from around the world. All items are produced either by collectives that are fair trade certified or that respect and adhere to fair trade principles. All artisans and farmers whose products are distributed by Globe In are paid a fair wage for their products.

Subscriptions cost $40 per month, but the price can go as low as $35 with a longer subscription. For those who would prefer to receive one handmade product each month, GlobeIn also operates the GlobeIn Club which costs $10 each month.

FYI – GlobeIn had announced a price increase, and that doesn’t seem to have happened yet, so if you’re interested, I would subscribe now.

GlobeIn is committed to empowering artisans around the world. With each shipment, you’ll get to learn about the artisans and communities your purchase has helped to support.

DEAL: Save $10 on a 3-month subscription with coupon code WELCOME.

The theme for this box is BATHE. Artisan Box subscribers have a selection of themes from which to choose. This way, artisans will be able to meet GlobeIn’s needs while also having longer, steady work as they continue to produce items for the Artisan Box.

Along with all of the lovely items in the box, the Artisan Box includes a booklet that gives details about each of the artists responsible for the items in the box.

Everything in the BATHE box! This box is a restock of the January 2016 Bathe box, minus one bonus item.

Palm Leaf Basket – Mexico ($12). The familiar lidded basket is back!

This one is a cheery purple and holds all the items from the box – wouldn’t it be perfect to hold bathroom items?

Alaffia Lemongrass Citrus African Black Soap – Togo ($5.59) The scents of this soap is bright and citrusy! Alaffia uses its profits to improve maternal health in Togo and assist in the transportation needs of schoolchildren. The soap is made from natural African resources – palm kernel oil and shea butter.

The soap isn’t actually black! The palm kernel oil is cooked to the point of charcoal and when it’s used in a soap it’s a pretty reddish brown.

Hand Towel -Turkey ($12) One side of this towel has terry loops making it extra absorbent! The towel is about 19×30. It’s such a nice large size. The one we have from a year and a half ago has seen plenty of wear and is still in excellent condition.

Silk Face Scrub – Turkey ($10?). This little pouch is made to slip over your fingers – rub it against your wet or damp face to naturally exfoliate your skin. It’s made from 100% raw silk and smells a little funky but you totally have to try it – it works! My skin feels really soft after I use it. I am not sure about the value of this item – you can purchase actual silkworm cocoons (weird) for about $4 or a larger mitt for $20-30, so I went with $10.

Pestemal Bath Towel – Turkey ($25) This 100% Turkish peshtemal towel fits right in with all our others. We love these lightweight bathtowels because we have a lot of kids, and packing different colors in the bathroom means that everyone can have one and nobody has cooties. Plus, they’re soft and absorbent.

This towel is about 67×39 and will cover your whole body even if you aren’t a little person. You can also use it as a throw or table cover.

The BATHE box was indeed refreshing! All the items are going to be useful for summer and the retail was about $55 which is a good value for a fair trade subscription. This subscription is also perfect for gifting to the mindful women in your life!
