Everything in the June 2017 box!

Inch by Inch By Leo Lionni ($4.87, $16.99 MSRP)

This favorite classic picture book introduces children to a winning, winsome inchworm who can measure anything under the sun, from a robin’s tail to a toucan’s beak. When a hungry nightingale threatens to eat him for breakfast unless he can measure her song, the inchworm will have to cleverly solve the dilemma. This is a whimsical and sweet picture book that asks, “Can a song be measured?”

This book is a Caldecott Honor Book and a New York Times Best Illustrated Book. It’s a real classic with a sweet story of a tiny little inchworm measuring everything, including a bird’s song so he doesn’t get eaten!

Because A Little Bug Went Ka-Choo! By Rosetta Stone ($5.98, MSRP $9.99)

Little things can have a big impact, as in this funny Beginner Book by Dr. Seuss (writing under the name Rosetta Stone) and Michael Frith. When a little bug sneezes, he unknowingly sets off a hilarious chain reaction that wreaks havoc clear across town. From a toppled turtle to a sinking ship to a disrupted circus parade, Because a Little Bug Went Ka-Choo! takes a hysterical look at consequences in a way that only Dr. Seuss can.

As the pen-name Rosetta Stone suggests, this book is meant to unlock language and this book is written with only 120 different words, letting children fall in love with reading and story telling without extensive vocabularies.

So fun and funny, a real hit with our kids!

We think this is a great subscription and we love how the information card connects the book to the lessons learned, but the value wasn’t great this month – about $27 MSRP, but only around $11 Amazon prices. It’s hard to say that the beautiful packaging makes up that shortfall, but we think this subscription can improve and the curation principles are solid – we’re looking forward to seeing it grow! And as a gift, it’s spectacular – my husband and I absolutely fawned over it while opening it!
