Looking good! I always look forward to this box and enjoy the variety of products they send.

Each box comes with a mini magazine that gives tips on how to use the products, how much the full-sized product costs, and where to purchase, along with discount codes!

Everything in the box! Gone is the redundant brown cardboard box – my glossy red box was wrapped in plastic and my products were snuggled in white paper and shredded squiggles for packing.

Some long term subscribers received an email about a bonus item, shipped separately from the monthly box. I received a black poly mailer bag and inside I found 2 Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Gloss Lip Lacquers  ($28 EACH!). I received the shades Hey You (fuchsia cherry) and Moonglow (soft pink nude). I love the fuchsia shade, I was able to use just a bit so it wasn’t too bright and my older daughter loved the lighter color. They smell minty fresh and are not too gloopy.

My daughter is obsessed with her pores so I let her try out feel Brilliant Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sheet Mask ($8.75). The mask itself is made of renewable bamboo and detoxifying charcoal helps draw out gunk from the skin. It has a pleasant scent plus the mask is black instead of white. Karina enjoyed it.

Burt’s Bees Complete Nourishment Facial Oil ($1.96) is made with several natural oils such as rosehip, jojoba, and evening primrose. It smells herbally and nice and I just rubbed a few drops between my fingers before patting it into my damp skin. The directions say to follow with a moisturizer.

I usually don’t use sea salt sprays but I decided to try Redken Fashion Waves 07 Sea Salt Spray ($6.50) since I really like Redken. It didn’t give me waves but I skipped blow drying and went ahead and curled my hair as usual and was surprised that it looked pretty much the same as it did when I blow dry it using at least two products (spray plus gel or mousse). I feel like I can skip the blow dry on some of these hot days (like, all summer here in Texas!).

Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection & Heat Protectant Crème ($4.50) keeps tresses protected while you blow dry or heat treat your hair, up to 425°F. Comb through wet hair and get to work. Rosehip, argan, and coconut oils seal in moisture, protect from heat, and protect against breakage. My hair was very soft after blow drying, but it was so soft that my curling iron wouldn’t grip it at all. I had to use another spray for grip, but I did like the smell and my hair looked good all day long.

Beauty for Real Lip Revival Exfoliating + Hydrating Lip Scrub ($9.24) I was impressed with the natural oils that give this a lovely orange and cinnamon scent plus the overall sugary scrubbiness of this lip exfoliator, at least until I looked at the ingredients.

The ingredients weren’t listed on the package but polyethylene is listed on the website, which most likely means microbeads. Unlike some natural scrubs that are pure enough to eat, I would make sure to NOT eat this one.

Wander Beauty Lipstick in Barely There ($15, part of a dual ended lipstick that sells for $30) Heads up, this company says they don’t use mineral oil yet this product does include paraffin, a type of mineral oil derived from petroleum. It also has shea, jojoba, and castor seed oils, although these are farther down the list. It felt very soft on my lips and the nude rosy mauve shade matched my lips so it’s perfect for a low key look.

Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Bali ($26) I love this shade, which is described as medium rose pink, because it looks like a combo of the other two shades offered, tangerine and hot pink. This one is perfect for my coloring and although I don’t plan on swimming in it I DO live in a super hot and humid place and it lasted all day! Although it looks pink in the picture, it seems to change color depending on which way the light hits it.

Here are swatches of the lipstick (top) and blush (bottom).

My July Allure Beauty Box had a value of $71.95 (not including the bonus lip lacquers) and had a pretty good assortment of products! The blush and salt spray were my favorites but I was disappointed with the greenwashing that a couple of the companies tried to pull (if you’re not all natural, then don’t say that you are!). I enjoy Allure Beauty Box and like that they include mainstream and indie brands and I look forward to getting it each month!
