Nomadik is a subscription box for outdoor enthusiasts. Each monthly box includes functional gear designed to increase your fun in the outdoors. All products have been trail tested by an outdoor adventurer and often incorporate new technologies. Every box has one large, featured product, between one and three smaller products, and one or two inspirational items to get you outdoors.

The theme for May 2017 is ‘Camp Kitchen.’ The info card lists a bit about each item in the box and its approximate value.

The box also included a Nomadic Challenge card announcing another photo contest. In line with the theme, they also sent a “Fresh Off the Grid” recipe card for making camp nachos!

Everything in my box!

Simple Shower ($13): As noted on the info card, the outer packaging didn’t fit in the Nomadic box, so they just sent the good stuff! This simple combo of shower head and tubing affixes to either a standard one or two liter bottle, letting you create a portable shower anywhere you have warm water.

The head screws on to a standard soda bottle and has holes for exchange of water and air for a smooth, controlled flow. You can hang the shower or hold in your hold, and inverting the bottle stops the flow.

BananaGrams WildTiles ($15): A fast-paced word game where you construct your own Scrabble-esque word grid faster than the other players.

With no board needed, this game travels well and has several variations to customize game play. The kids loved this game and immediately started playing it on the living room floor.

We allowed the use of proper nouns, so our 8 year old came up with Nathan and Chima (as in LEGO) – but we were super tickled by TOFU!

Wildo Camp-A-Box Light ($15): A small mess kit that is light enough to take anywhere.

We received the light version, which includes a bowl/plate with plate/lid, a collapsible cup, and a knife spork.

Everything in the kit.

The utensil triples as a knife, spoon, and fork. I don’t know that there is a portmanteau for that yet!

The kit includes a handy collapsible cup.

It starts out relatively short.

But it folds out to double in height to the size of a small mug. This kit is great for camping and hiking, but it’s completeness also makes it a nice item to stash in a desk drawer for when office food mysteriously appears and you have no place setting.

Nomadik is a really fun box for anyone who enjoys casual or frequent hiking, tent camping, animal tracking and just hanging out in the outdoors. I love the way the box works in new tech and gear without abandoning its reverence for the purity of the outdoors experience.  Nomadic makes a great gear update for constant adventurers and a fun motivational kit for those who get out less often.
