Five Four Harbin KHA MOD Modern Fit Shorts: I love the look of these shorts from the front. They appear to be standard style khaki shorts – the only major departure from traditional styling is the placement of the stash or key pocket. These little, vertical pockets are normally seen only on jeans and sit inside the larger hip pocket – this one is out front.
The back is less traditional. It has a little belt in the middle to gather the fabric.
I think the belt is mostly decorative. If used, it creates a butt pleat, which isn’t the best look. It is a bit of a feminine touch, and this really only ever appears on men’s clothing on the back of some vests.
Five Four Warburton NAT Belt: This “canvas” belt has a nice, versatile blue and white pattern that will complete shorts or pants that are blue, white, or any earth tone. The material is actually a poly/spandex blend, so it stretches and fits very comfortably.
The metal loops are attached with a leather strap. The branding is concealed on the interior side of the belt. I was a little worried that the belt wouldn’t fit, as my pants size is currently larger than a simple large, but it fit fine and even has a good deal of stretch.
Five Four Madison BLU Short Sleeve: A short sleeve sport shirt with classic styling.
The shirt features a button-down collar and breast pocket. The collar is the same fabric as the shirt, so it has enough stiffness to not become awkwardly creased.
The fabric has a slight chambray and a pattern of tiny, lighter colored dots.
This set of clothes was a nice opener for the Summer, appropriate for a BBQ or even a Memorial Day parade. Slightly dressy and a little edgy, but projecting a classic, upscale feel. I like that they sent clothing that is seasonally appropriate and in-line with my fashion profile.
