I’ve been back to a proper Korean beauty skincare routine the last three months after first getting into it back in 2010 before sheet masks were sold at places like Sephora! My skin is normal, and while I don’t have any ingredient sensitivities it can lean dry if I use products or masks that aren’t as hydrating. My skin is a finicky beast, eh? Sheet masks can be inexpensive $1 masks all the way up to single masks that run about $10-20! The more luxe the line, the more pricey their masks. All of the masks included are available for repurchase on the Beauteque website.

Coreana 2-Step Egg Cloud Mask ($3.99) The more you study Korean skincare, the more you remember what specific ingredients will benefit your skin. This is a two step mask, which is always fun to use! Step 1 is the mask itself, infused with egg white to remove dead skin cells and manage sebum. (Egg has pore-tightening effects!) Step 2 is a sleeping pack, which is an occlusive product meant to seal moisture in while you sleep.

MJCare 2-Step White Flowers Soothing Mask ($3.99) Another two step mask! The key ingredients in this are aloe and centella, both which have soothing properties. Aloe itself can be a bit drying, but this sounds great for summer. The first step is an ampoule, which is a thick essence you apply onto your skin and pat gently in. After applying the ampoule you apply the mask. I like to leave masks on for no more than 20-30 minutes – if you touch the mask and it’s starting to dry, take it off! Once it gets to that point it’s going to start pulling the moisture back out of your skin.

Beauty Friends II Herb Essence Mask ($1.99) This was a variation item – subscribers received the Herb Essence mask or the Aroma Essence mask. The copy on the page for this item is actually the same as the above Soothing 2-Step mask (oops!) so I had to do a bit of Google-fu. It uses a mixture of natural herbal extracts to help soothe sensitive skin.

Wangskin White Flower Whitening and Anti-Wrinkle Mask ($2.99) Many people are confused by the terms “whitening” when it comes to Asian skincare. It’s not about lightening the pigment of the skin, which is difficult to do, but more about evening out skintone, reducing hyperpigmentation, and brightening the overall skin texture. The mask targets tired, dry skin which has a dull appearance and helps to firm and brighten.

Welcos Jeju Volcanic Island Moisturizing Mask/Purifying Mask ($1.99 each) I love anything Jeju! (The Innisfree Volcanic Jeju Clay Mask is my HG!) We were sent two different types of mask. The red moisturizing one has camellia flower, peptides (proteins) as well as collagen for hydration. The green purifying mask contains green tea flower to purify pores and help soothe skin.

Coreana Winage Hyaluronic Acid Mask ($1.99) Hyaluronic acid is a moisturizer that pulls moisture from the air to hydrate the skin. It’s great for warmer weather and humid climates because of that.

Etude House 0.2mm Lotus Mask ($1.99) I love Etude House masks! They’re cheap and they fit my face pretty well, which is a challenge since my face is compact feature-wise but large area-wise. It’s hard to get everything lined up nicely and these fit nicely. Lotus extract helps soothe and hydrate skin.

The Face Shop Real Nature Lily Mask ($2.20) TFS has a few lines, and as they have a shop in the mall in my town, I’ve tried all of them. The Nature series unfortunately doesn’t fit me at all, while the Solutions line fits almost perfectly. Lily contains brightening properties making this a good mask for tired and dull skin.

My first Mask Maven delivery was great! I sheet mask twice a day and am always looking for new brands to try out before committing to a full box. Mask Maven allows me to do so for a fraction of the cost. Plus if I like a mask, I know exactly where to go to reorder. I liked the flower theme this month and can’t wait to try everything!
