Satva Box is a monthly subscription box that sends natural beauty products at affordable prices. The word “satva” means pure in Sanskrit and the items sent will be free of parabens and other nasties. The cost is $14.99 a month with discounts on 3 or 6-month terms. When you sign up you can choose from the regular Satva Box or the Vegan Box. I am reviewing the regular, non-vegan box (although all the products this month are vegan!).

I love product info cards and this one is helpful, detailed, and gives the suggested retail value of each item.

There were some coupon codes on inserts from a couple of the featured vendors.

Everything in my box! I love Satva and have discovered lots of new brands through this subscription. Plus, what a nice variety of items for my body and face!

Redeeming Beauty Sunset’s Kiss ($5.99) I like mineral makeup and this shade is listed under their peach shades category. It is described as “a hot coral with pink undertones and a sparkle of sunshine” and says it’s good for a variety of skin tones and colors but especially shows off hazel eyes. I have hazel eyes but I think this shade was a bit too orange for me. The sifter makes it easy to remove just the amount you need without saturating your makeup brush and it can be applied as is or over primer for a deeper shade.

I swatched the shadow alone on top, over Urban Decay eye shadow primer in the middle, and applied it with a wet brush on the bottom. It was definitely darker with a primer and also water. When I went to wipe off my arm, the top swatch wiped off immediately but the other two stayed put. My husband asked if I had a rug burn on my arm, so I guess it’s not the shade for me.

Afterspa Konjac Sponge I didn’t see this on the Afterspa website but the card lists the value as $8. I’m familiar with konjac, which is made from the konjac plant and is suitable for sensitive skin. It can be used with cleanser or alone to gently exfoliate the face.

It starts out hard but softens after you soak it in water. Just rinse and hang by the attached string to dry.

NW Beauty Works Sea Kelp & Aloe Soak This sample was listed as a bonus on the card. The ingredients are organic kelp powder, organic aloe leaf powder, and baking soda and you pour it in the bath for a relaxing and rehydrating skin treat.

The Granola Goat Let’s Get Glowing Dry Face Mask ($15) I have tried several products from The Granola Goat and it is one of my favorite natural beauty brands! They send their masks dry so that they won’t need a preservative, plus you can customize your mask by adding water, yogurt, or some other mixable for your skin’s particular needs.

This powder is made with organic orange peel, white kaolin clay, organic calendula flowers, and lemon essential oil. I mixed it with water but it was hard to get it to stay on my skin, so next time I will try the suggestion of adding molasses and milk. Citrus products can make you skin extra sensitive to sunlight so this might be best used at night. Also, make sure not to inhale the particles when mixing the mask as the dust from the kaolin can be harmful to your lungs.

Naked Products Naked Scrubs in Mojito ($5) I love the simple ingredient list of this scrub: sugar, mint, lime, and oils! I used this in the shower and loved how it smelled, plus my skin was so soft I didn’t need a moisturizer afterwards. I paid extra attention to my knees and elbows to keep them smooth.

This is perfect for an at-home pedicure session!

I love it when my pretty pink Satva Box shows up each month! I appreciate the quality and natural aspects of each product and have discovered some lovely new brands through this subscription. My box had a value of $34 and my favorite was the body scrub, which smelled delicious and left my skin silky soft!
