This is review of the standard Popular Pooch box.

The theme this month is “Barks ‘N BBQ.”

The opposite side of the card lists the treats, toys, and accessories in this month’s box. An individual price breakdown of the items isn’t provided, but the card summarizes the savings from retail of each of the tiered boxes offered by Pooch Perks.

Everything in the box!

Champion Life Eco-Friendly Poop Bags: A sleeve of four 15-bag rolls of poop bags. The bags are thin, but strong. They are even scented with a sweet cherry blossom fragrance.

The bags are made using some recycled material, and they are fully degradable.

Ruff Ruff Couture Cheeseburger Plush Toy ($5.99): This selection is for smaller dogs’ boxes only – a plush squeaker in the shape of a cheeseburger.

The likeness to an actual burger is quite close, complete with lettuce leaf, melty cheese, and even sesame seeds on the bun! Sorry Lindy — our toddler has claimed this for his play kitchen!

Pet Qwerks Flavorit Nylon Bone ($6.79): A super dense nylon bone for tough chewers. The textured surface adds interest, as does the chicken flavoring.

Soft Flex 5″ Airball ($4.98): This toy is shaped like a big, fat bomb, with the front section about the size of a squash ball.

It can be stood on the fins for paw and mouth maneuvering, and the fins slow tumbling when thrown.

Bubba Rose Grillin’ and Chillin‘ ($13.99): A four-cookie collection that let’s your dog join the BBQ feast.

Frosted with a carob-based icing, the cookies are lovingly decorated to look like a hotdog, hamburger, mug of beer, and a little paw coin.

Sally Snacks Venison Jerky ($15): Made solely of grass-fed New Zealand venison and organic turmeric, nothing else. The strips look like fruit leather, but they are extremely dry and crispy. The turmeric makes we wary of giving these to our dog anywhere near the carpet (or even light-colored stone or tile surfaces!), as turmeric is THE WORST staining substance in the world.

So Bright Beef Liver Recipe Treats ($14.99): Thick, crunchy cookies made with real beef liver.

These treats skip the grains, using peas, carrot, pumpkin, cranberry, and other dog favorites to form a crunchy, but not overly dry, biscuit.

Preen Pets Chicken Jerky ($4.99): These treats are made from all natural chicken, with no additives or fillers. They may look like a cross between a Madeleine and a dog turd, but the taste must be good, because my dog loves them!

Lindy seemed very excited about this month’s selections!

The decorative cookies are fun for the kids, too – they are much more exciting to give to the dog than ordinary treats. Lindy loved them, but the decorative aspect may have been lost on her.

We really like this subscription. We Especially like the quality of the treats that come in the box – they are made with high-quality, healthful ingredients, and they come in great big bags for gluttonous dogs. It is highly customizable to suit your dog’s specific needs, but the standard box has a great combination of treats and toys.

I’ve been impressed with Pooch Perks. I ordered a 6 month subscription of the middle size box during the Black Friday sale to be delivered to the farm. It didn’t matter which dog was at the farm, they all loved the items. The boxes arrived every month like clockwork. I received a receipt after the last box shipped showing that all six boxes shipped and their respective tracking numbers.

My dogs received the Sally Snacks jerky in another box and went wild over it. I ended up ordering another package on Amazon for them.
