Faithbox has announced its closure:

Dear Faithbox Community,

Over the last two and a half years, we’ve experienced countless prayers, incredible stories of faith with you – our community – and have provided over 200,000 meals to hungry kids – so it brings me much sadness to share that Faithbox is shutting down, effective today.

Faithbox grew too fast for our own good and ended up in a financial situation that we couldn’t overcome without raising money. Unfortunately, we were unable to do so and after exhausting all options over the last few months, the only course of action moving forward is for us to close down.

In difficult times or situations, our faith is often tested beyond our usual comfort zone and this is no exception. As a team we are putting ourselves fully in God’s hands and trusting that Faithbox was just a small piece of a far greater plan – for our team, for you, and for everyone who has been part of the Faithbox journey.

Right now, we’re working with our legal team and board members on figuring out the best way to close this chapter in the most graceful way possible. We don’t have all the answers at the moment, but customers not on month-to-month plans with outstanding 3-month or annual plans will be receiving a refund for the remaining months of your plan. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be able to share more details – important things like more specific timing on when refunds will be issued and additional resources for you to continue your journey of faith.

Over the years, there have been a few occasions where I asked you to bear with us as we overcame various hurdles – delays due to inclement weather, introducing new products, etc…I ask for this favor one last time as we wrap things up and deal with a difficult situation. Above all, your support of Faithbox over the past two years has meant the world to us and we’ll do everything we can to wrap this up in a way that’s befitting of the virtues we’ve encouraged in our community.

Grace and Peace,
Willie and the Faithbox Team

FYI – you can find additional Christian subscription boxes in the directory.

I’m surprised that Faithbox shutdown because I thought Willie had connections to the Christian publishing industry. Another sub box closed after trying to raise money:( I used to subscribed to them when they first came onto the market.

It appears that the transition from being a smaller subscription box company to a larger subscription box company is fraught with difficulties. I feel bad for Willie and the Faithbox team.
