I’ve been a big fan of Seabrook Lattice Crisps in Sea Salt & Black Pepper Flavour (£1.50-£1.99) for a while now, and I buy them on a regular basis.

The unique lattice shape gives a texture and taste that is like a wonderful hybrid of a crisp and a potato stick. The simple Sea Salt and Black Pepper flavour is great, and in my house we also really like the cheese and onion flavour.

The Polo Sugar Free Pot (£1.49) brings you the traditional Polo mint in an easy to open container with hinged lid.  The pot is perfect for keeping on your desk or in your car.

The mints have a pleasantly potent peppermint flavour, and because they are sugar free, they are gentle on teeth.

CELIA Organic Lager is a 100% organic Czech Lager brewed with just three local ingredients: Moravian malt from the Bohemian region, Saaz hops and sand-filtered water from the Zatec foothills. The beer is also gluten free. The beer is an appealing light gold colour with excellent clarity and a good amount of natural carbonation. It is super easy to drink, with a lightly spicy flavour and very clean finish. I’m not a big lager person, but this is certainly a beer I would enjoy at a summer barbecue.

Garofalo Whole Wheat Penne Pasta (£2.19) is a testament to the fact that whole wheat pasta has improved a lot in taste, texture and overall quality since it arrived on the market several years ago. I used the Garofalo penne to make mac and cheese. It cooked nicely and didn’t taste significantly different to normal white pasta. The added health benefit of whole wheat is a bonus.

GOOD HEMP Hemp Seed Hearts (£4.49) have made a welcomed addition to my usual breakfast of fruit and yogurt topped with seed and nuts. These are great for you, high in protein, fibre and omega 3. I especially love the surprisingly nutty flavour. I can see how these would also be a great addition to baked goods, especially for imparting more flavour when baking for those with nut allergies.

Dorset Cereals Ultimate Adventures American Roadtrip Muesli (£4.89) is loaded with dried cranberries, sultanas and raisins. It also has tons of tiny pieces of orange peel, which lend a very strong orange flavour. Almonds also add a nice nuttiness to the mix. I liked this, but the orange flavour is just too dominant for my personal tastes. I prefer museli with more nuts and less dried fruit, so it’s not a flavour I would buy again, but if you like orange then you will probably love this!

I loved the look of the Doisy & Dam’s Quinoa, Smoked Tea & Vanilla Chocolate (£1.75).

The flavour combination sounded so intriguing, but sadly I didn’t like this at all. The quinoa wasn’t crispy like I’d hoped it would be, but the real issue was the smoked flavour. Now, I love smokey things, but it just didn’t work with the milk chocolate. Perhaps a dark chocolate would complement the smoked flavour better? It’s a rare occurrence that I don’t like chocolate, but even my husband agreed this wasn’t good.

Nothing But Freeze-Dried Fruit Snacks (£1.20) were nothing like I expected. I received a pack of Strawberry & Banana flavour and a pack of Pineapple and Grape flavour.

The little pieces of  freeze dried fruit are incredibly light. The strawberries have a crispness and bright berry flavour which I loved. I didn’t care for the banana as much, but luckily there were far more pieces of strawberry in the bag.

The grape has an intense fruit flavour – like delicious fruit leather. The pineapple also has great flavour but is a little less sticky and chewy.  I really enjoyed these treats.  Of the two flavours, I definitely preferred the grape and pineapple mix.  These are a tasty and healthy way to satisfy your sweet tooth and get one of your 5 (or 10) a day.

Whitworths Full of Super Vanilla Maca-roons (£1.50) are not macaroons, but they are tasty.

These are loaded with pieces of nuts, are chewy from coconut and a bit sticky and sweet from agave. These are pretty caloric (269kcal per 50g pack) but make a nutritious and filling snack. Just don’t expect it to taste anything like a macaroon!

New York Delhi’s ViPnuts Hot Chilli (£1.20) are packed with spice and heat. The nuts are thoroughly coated in chili and the flavour definitely lives up to the appearance.

These were good but I wish I’d gotten the Hot Toffee flavour in my box – carmelised peanuts with a hint of chilli sound really delicious!

Fentiman’s Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water combines the flavours of ruby red grapefruit and quinine in a distinctive pink mixer. Taken alone it is pleasantly dry and bitter, with an intriguing grapefruit flavour. Alcohol mellows the bitterness to create a really nice mixed drink. I love the pretty pink colour and the surprisingly clean and refreshing taste.

As always, this month’s Degustabox was filled with tasty treats!
