YumeTwins is a monthly Kawaii subscription brought to you by the same people behind TokyoTreat! Every month, you’ll receive an assortment of super cute and adorable kawaii products from Japan.

DEAL: Save $3 OFF your first box using code 3off.

Through 4/30 you can subscribe and get this exact box PLUS Use code 2NDANNIV at checkout to get 10% off any plan forever!

The theme for this box is Neko Purrrfect!

There’s a short article that explains the significance of cats in Japan.

Like with TokyoTreat, there’s an adorable colorful magazine included that contains the product info on the centerfold.

It also has facts about Japan, information on contests, and so on.

Everything in the May 2017 YumeTwins Box!

Cat-Designed Tumbler: This 8″ tumbler is perfect for starting your day “animal style”!

There’s a sipper/strainer that fits right in the top.

The tumbler is decorated all around with cute cats and sayings.

I think this is adorable and I love the looks of it. I’m really bad about not finishing a drink, so I might keep this in my giant tote bag for a to-go bottle. Plus, it holds liquids up to 100C (the boiling point of water).

Shinada Silvester Plushie: Subscribers received either Silvia or Silvester in their boxes this month (three color variations per character).

This is a cute bag charm

I honestly couldn’t find these characters online (which is unusual), but it’s worth noting that Silvia is Sylvester the Cat’s wife.

Like that Sylvester the cat. Do you think it’s a translation issue?

Tsum Tsum Coin Purse: I’m in love with Tsum Tsum! This one has a ball chain so you can attach it to your purse, which is an excellent idea. So many favorites on this side. Ariel is so sweet but I love Marie!

This one has team Duck, team Chipment, and Team Mouse, and some other friends!

The information booklet describes it as “gamaguchi style” – which just means the metal kiss lock clasp!

Yo-kai Watch DX Explorer Komasan Plush: This plush is fully licensed from Bandai’s Yo-kai Watch! Komasan is my favorite because he loves soft serve (me toooo!).

His eyebrows are intense – they really extend waaaay out. He really likes nature, so he’s dressed in a little explorers/ranger outfit. He’s really nicely weighted with beans in his butt to keep him seated properly.

AMUSE Tsuchineko Plush Pouch: This large plush “pouch” (or a plush that is also a pouch” is inspired by tsuchinoko, which is a snake-like being in Japanese folklore (like a fat furry snake with a tail).

These are tsuchineko (see the vowel change?) because neko means “cat” in Japanese! Ours came with a lucky four-leaf clover and there are a whopping 15 variations!

He has a nice curly tail.

And a long zipper in his belly that hides the pouch.

Inside is a delightful shamrock print!

Ahalo Butter Shampoo & Hair Mask: For US subscribers Ahalo Butter sent along shampoo & hair mask samples. YumeTwins notes that this brand is popular in Japan.

Ahalo Butter is a rich beauty line that carefully blends butters and oils picked from nature and infused with our proprietary science components such as raw collagen, ceramide, amino acids, hyaluronic acids, etc., under each line’s unique concept to cleanse, restore, replenish, hydrate, and smooth hair.

I think this is a cool bonus and it would be good to have more information on the brand, but I did find them at YesStyle. It actually looks like a cool line!

I like YumeTwins new curation philosophy – larger, higher value items, with everything fully licensed. At $6 each I think the price is reasonable, especially as my boxes no longer contain cheap pen and stationery fillers, but it would be nice to see a few of those items creep in as extras to make the box a little fuller. Overall I thought this was a cute box, and I just love the hidey pouch!

What do you think of YumeTwins this month?

Hello! I somehow found out the smaller cat is part of a series “Dakin Silvia & Silvan Plush Black Cat 1980 Japan Artists Society”, so there is a cute chubby black one as well! I bought the vintage black one a while back w.out knowing , and now I have her (the mini) and they can hang out together and be super cute on my shelf! Ha! Wish I could post a picture of the vintage looking ones for ya’. There some cool merch. on ebay of them as a couple as well and you can see the progression of the style of the cats.
