SaloonBox is a monthly cocktail subscription box. Every month you’ll receive two cocktail recipes, top-shelf liquors for the recipes along with any specialty items, plus the background on each cocktail. Note: Be sure that someone 21+ is home to sign for the delivery.

All non-perishable ingredients are packed in paper shreds and smaller boxes. So much care is taken to ensure that your items arrive intact.

DEAL: You can save 20% on your subscription with coupon code HELLO20.

Alcohol and mixers are packed separately within the box.

In the envelope, SaloonBox includes a letter that provides information for each cocktail, as well as details on some of the ingredients to be used. There are also drink recipe cards and an ingredient checklist. The recipe cards give a brief history of the drink, the bar, and mixologist associated with it.

Since this was my first box with the new subscription, I received a double serving of one cocktail recipe – enough for 4 drinks. Normally, SaloonBox sends 2 servings of 2 different cocktails.

And the Cherry On Top Is…

This drink features Luxardo Maraschino, which is still made using the original 1821 recipe, and a dried bing cherry garnish. The base spirit of the cocktail is Grays Peak Vodka. I actually received this cocktail in a past box enjoyed it. Since this box had 4 servings, I was able to have a small cocktail party with my sister and brother-in-law. Here’s my review from September 2016.

I liked this cocktail. The Luxardo Maraschino is definitely not the liquid found housing the bright red jarred cherries. Combined with the fresh lemon juice, it made the drink tart, but the vanilla simple syrup took out the bite. One of my dried cherries fell into my drink and stayed there until the bitter end. It soaked up the cocktail and made a super tasty surprise treat. When I make this again, I think I’ll skip the garnish and add the cherries to the bottom of the glass.

I was happy to renew my SaloonBox subscription. It’s a fun way to try out drink recipes, both classic faves and updated takes. I am excited to see what this subscription period delivers. Don’t forget that SaloonBox makes a great gift for the mixologist in your life.

While it looks good….the price seems very high for what you get. Do feel there is value here?
