Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box that brings only the best and exclusive Sephora beauty and makeup samples. The subscription costs $10 per month, and you’ll get 5 deluxe beauty products, playlists, a fragrance bonus item, plus coupons you can use when you visit in-store.

Everything arrived packed in a bag, preventing items from rolling around in the box. This month’s bag saying – Smitten. I love the blush satin bag. Very pretty.

Don’t forget about your PLAY! Pass. It gets you 50 extra Beauty Insider points with a purchase from the box (in-store only). Your subscription also entitles you to PLAY! Date meetups if your store participates.

February’s theme is The Soft Side. This month’s curations were designed to show off your natural beauty.

The fold out poster shows a list of all the items included in this box plus product/brand trivia and beauty tips. You can access all of the information and also watch the videos right on the Sephora site or use the app to scan the sheet for more info!

Everything in my box! My variation was box 591. Click here to see variant items in other boxes!

Clinique Moisturizer Pep-Start HydroBlur ($4.16): This moisturizer is a multi-tasker. Wear it alone or use it as a primer. It dries to a matte finish and helps blur imperfections and fine lines. I liked how my face looked immediately after applying this. However, I didn’t find that it controlled oil as well as my regular primer. By the end of the day, my face was super shiny.

Origins Refreshing Eye Cream ($10.20): I’ve used this cream before and love the affect it has on my eyes – they almost immediately look more awake after applying it. The formula contains light-reflecting particles which gives the cream a peachy color (helps offset dark circles). The coffee beans, panax ginseng, and magnolia extract work together to energize the eye area. This is definitely a must buy.

Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy – Milkshake ($4.71): I don’t know why I tried this product. I have full lips and don’t need a plumper. This gloss filled out my lips, so that there weren’t any wrinkles, but I didn’t see much other than that. This has a creamy color, but it appears more like a shimmer when applied.

Word of caution, this does cause a tingling/burning sensation. I don’t generally have sensitive skin, but this was painful to wear. It felt like I was actually getting lip injections!

Sephora Collection Lashcraft Length & Volume Mascara ($3.42): I definitely noticed a difference between my bare lashes and after using this. To me, this was more of a lengthening formula than a volumizer. I liked that the brush was full sized, but it was the smallest wand I’ve ever used! The unique brush design was interesting too – it’s paddle-shaped. I have hooded eyes and ended up hitting my lids a few times trying to use this. Regardless, the mascara held up nicely throughout the day and didn’t smudge, which surprised me since it can be removed with just water.

Here’s a look at my eye before and after using Sephora’s Lashcraft.

tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue – Nude ($6.65): This is a sheer moisturizing lip balm that has a high gloss finish. It feels so good going on. The formula contains a proprietary blend of algae and marine flower extracts to smooth and soften skin, Spilanthes Acmella flower extract which promotes firmness and elasticity, Portulaca Pilosa extract which is a skin conditioner, coconut oil for moisture and antibacterial properties, and Vitamin E which acts as an emollient and antioxidant. So much goodness in such a little package.

Prada Candy ($2.85): I giggled when I saw this sample. Prada Candy is my sister’s favorite perfume (seriously, it’s her signature scent); however, I am not a fan. The blend has notes of White Musks, Benzoin, and Caramel Accord. For me the caramel is overwhelming, and I would have preferred more musk.

This month’s Play! was valued at $32. My favorite items are the Origins GinZing cream and tarte lip balm (but I would have been happy with the Bite and NARS lip products too). I think I need to redo my profile since I keep getting fragrances that don’t work for me. Based on scents that I like, I feel I would have preferred the Tom Ford Neroli Portofino.

I totally remember hating the Lip Injection when I tried it years ago. I can tolerate Lip Venom fine, but for some reason Lip Injection was worse? I don’t get it.
