Indie Book Connect is a subscription box for the reader who walks into Barnes and Noble and feels like they have read it all. It will introduce you to a wonderful world of independent authors and all of the books that you have been missing out on. Every month, you can expect to receive two new fiction books from two separate authors. All of the books come autographed and the box also includes a unique bookmark from an indie artist.

“Books are a uniquely portable magic.”

– Stephen King

I love this quote because it’s so true. The reminder to leave a good review for the author’s job well done is great as well. Also don’t forget to stay connected via social media.

Beautiful bookmark from ChikUna. Artifice means cleaver or artful skill. I love birds and music so falling in love with this bookmark was a very short fall.

Last Chance Baby A novel by Ashley Gallegos ($12.99)

When pregnant Hailey returns to New Mexico, she’s happy to play along with the rumor that she’s running from the child’s father in Seattle—as long as it keeps the people she loves safe. But when tragedy strikes, she has no choice but to trust ex-Navy SEAL Chuck with her life and the life of her unborn child. But Chuck has his own secrets, and he can’t ignore the red flags coming from Hailey, even though his heart says to trust her. The two soon find themselves plunged into a world of crime, espionage, and a danger that neither had anticipated.

If this was a television series I’d be on the couch week after week to watch it, but to read it and create the characters in my on mind is even better. I can’t even begin to imagine the situations they main characters are going to get themselves into with perhaps just a dash of a love story. I’m so excited to start on this crazy adventure with Hailey and Chuck.

Dreamer: Raphim Rising Book One by M.J. Neal ($22.99)

When your dreams become reality, do you dare face your nightmares?

This is the dangerous riddle that opposes the shepherd, Kelly, who has suffered from dark dreams for as long as he can remember. As an uneasy friendship forms between he and Raphim knight, Edmund Cade, the two begin to unravel both the threads of an ancient power sleeping in their land and a perilous power beginning to awaken within the boy himself.

But evil follows in ruthless pursuit as a common shepherd boy now faces both the threat of enemies and the audience of kings. Could Cade be withholding a dark secret?

Dreamer is a fantasy fiction novel that invites teens and adults into a dangerous realm rich with poetry, magic, and adventure. Join Kelly and Edmund on their quest to discover the truth behind a prophecy that has lain shrouded in the past for centuries. But if they fail, prevailing shadow may forever break and swallow the light to the ruin of all.

Dreamer doesn’t really sound like my kind of book but I’m still willing to give it a go. I like a good fantasy fiction novel but I  don’t like dark stories. I’m hoping M.J. Neal can change my perspective because she sounds like the kind of women I would want to befriend.

Indie Book Connect is amazing!  It’s so exciting to find new authors and to have books signed by them is even more exciting. I love that there is no unnecessary packaging and that the focus is on the books. The addition of the bookmark is great because any good reader knows that one can never have too many bookmarks. The addition on a readers group makes me so happy, I can share my thoughts and feelings on these selections with other readers. I also get to see the book from many different points of view, thank you for stepping this subscription box up a notch.
