Luxe Box is a quarterly beauty box curated by the same people behind Topbox. While the regular Topbox only ships within Canada, Luxe Box has a US version as well. Both boxes are $26 with free shipping and are sent out every three months. Luxe Box offers some customization options as boxes are being prepared, usually allowing subscribers to choose a foundation shade or a preference for nail polish, for example.
This month I apparently asked for just the drawstring bag and not the outer box, which is fine!
Everything in my box!
Cake Beauty Desserted Island Body Mousse ($2.64 CAD) A thick and rich body butter. This size is small and great for travel.
Eyeko Black Magic Mascara ($13.40 CAD) I’ve used this before and like it. I really like Eyeko mascara wands as they are smaller and fit the shape of my eye well.
Benefit Tinted Lash Primer ($10.72 CAD) At first I was disappointed to see another sample of They’re Real – but this is the new Benefit lash primer that is tinted brown. Brown! You can layer it under mascara or wear it alone. I think this will be nice on days when I don’t want a dramatic look but want to boost the colour of my blonde lashes.
The Beauty Crop Highlighter ($16 CAD) I really like the look of this highlighter; it’s not too pink. I also really like the packaging – Beauty Crop is from Australia.
Novex Bamboo Sprout Leave In Conditioner ($4.02 CAD) This is a very generous size sample of Novex’s bamboo strengthening conditioner. Novex is originally from Brazil and I have enjoyed their hair care products before. This conditioner promotes strength and growth.
Nova Scotia Fisherman Guest Soap ($2 CAD) Nova Scotia Fisherman Soaps all use kelp in them, which has amazing skin healing properties. I’ve tried their products before as Topbox (the parent company of Luxe Box) has sent them before and the minty scent of this soap is great.
Doucce Click Click Lipstick ($32.19 CAD) I was surprised how beautiful the packaging is on this – push the inner container in slightly until it clicks and pops out. Reminds me of my Chanel lipsticks.
NeoStrata FirmaLift ($18.40 CAD) I won’t use this personally, but it’s a very good sized sample and high value.
Included inside the box but outside of the bag were some Dove samples and a toothbrush. I’m not including these in the value of the box since Luxe Box often sends along bonus items/samples.
I’ve had this feeling about Luxe Box the last few boxes that I couldn’t put into words and now I think I can – Luxe Box doesn’t feel LUXE anymore. The items included are either drugstore items, leftovers I’ve gotten in Topbox 10 times before already, or items that are oversaturated in the subscription box market like Doucce. The only item I was legitimately excited about was the lash primer, and that’s kind of disappointing given how many items were actually sent.
