Hiker Crate is your monthly source of hiking goods. They send items that range from premiere hiking gear and accessories to snacks and other hiking inspiration. Usually, there are about 5-8 hiker items in every Hiker Crate, but crate sizes vary because they have different suppliers every month.

Everything in the box!

The box includes an information card enumerating all the items we received plus a short description for each. There are also several coupon codes for subscribers to take advantage of!

Sea Bear Sockeye Smoked Salmon. A healthy and convenient treat filled with protein and omega fatty acids. It doesn’t need to be refrigerated, so you can easily pack it in your bag along with your other hiking goodies and go. Plus, who doesn’t like smoked salmon?! It’s the perfect tasty treat to bring on a hike!

Kuju Coffee Dark Roast. A pocket-sized coffee pack in case anyone needs a caffeine boost during a hike. No equipment needed to prepare this one, only hot water. It’s a strong brew guaranteed to keep you alert and awake!

Tahoe Trail Bar. I love trail bars! This one is vegan and it has peanut butter and chocolate – what a mouthwatering combination. Plus it has raisins, cranberries, and coconut too!

Wild Acai Fruit Strip. Without any sugar, flavorings and other harmful stuff, this fruit strip is my new go-to guilt-free snack. Its main ingredient is acai, containing antioxidants which are good for the heart.

Kooee Super Snacks Jerky Trail Mix. Of course, a hiking box wouldn’t be complete without a trail mix! The packaging of this trail mix is very innovative too! There are two compartments – jerky in one and trail mix in the other. Upon opening the pouch, the dividing seal peels away and allows you to eat the snack mixed together. It’s a great way of maintaining the product’s freshness!

I am happy to find out that the jerky is made with grass-fed beef. It is also gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and paleo-friendly.

Sawyer Products Mini Water Filter. Saved the best for last! This is a super useful hiking gear! Actually, this would also come in handy to keep at home for emergency preparedness. For those who are not familiar with water filters, it makes water potable by removing bacteria (e.g., salmonella, cholera, E.coli) and protozoa (e.g., giardia and cryptosporidium). We also received a drinking pouch, standard disposable bottles (28 mm thread), hydration packs, and straw.

Every Hiker Crate that arrives at our doorstep makes us excited to go outdoors and have an adventure. The hiking gear we receive are always well-thought-out, while the snacks are varied and always packed with healthy stuff. Looking forward to the next boxes!
