Dia & Co is a monthly personal styling subscription for plus-sized women. It’s pretty much just like Stitch Fix for plus sizes – fill out your profile and sizing information, pay a $20 styling fee (refundable against anything you choose to keep), and have 5 items selected by a stylist sent straight to your home to try on. Dia & Co includes free shipping each way. If you keep all 5 items from your box, you’ll receive a 20% discount.
The box itself came packaged very neatly and included a note from my stylist.
I appreciate that the notes usually indicate that the stylist has gone back and looked at my profile and feedback from previous boxes. It’s also helpful when they include styling suggestions – sometimes I get pieces that I just don’t know how to style. One thing I miss in my Dia & Co boxes as compared to Stitch Fix are the styling cards that Stitch Fix includes. They are so helpful!
It included an invoice showing the price of each item plus my potential discount.
In addition to telling the stylists that I am more of a Classic, Casual, and Retro kind of girl, I also let them know that packability is key due to work travel. One of the things I think it interesting is they ask you what you DO NOT want in terms of colors and prints, instead of asking what you DO want. It does force me to be more open-minded!
Everything I got from this month’s box.
KIYONNA Knit Jersey Twist Top in Red 1X $58
Junarose Jaqueline Straight Leg Jeans in Dark Blue 16W $89
Ummmm, va-va-voom!? Let’s just say this top is boyfriend-approved. It’s a nice jersey top, the red is REALLY nice and vivid, and the fit is forgiving. I decided not to keep it, as I felt a little too boobalicious in it, and I think $58 is a bit much for a jersey top. It is nice quality and an interesting cut.
The jeans are an incredible inky blue. The photos capture the color accurately. Close to black, but you can still see the blue hue. They have a good amount of stretch, but I felt very muffin-top in them and decided not to keep them. The length was nice for wearing with flats. I am 5’10, so I am guessing these are a 32″ inseam.
Curve by Dora Landa Josie Top in Green 1X $59
I keep buying this kind of top. Apparently, my style is shifting, and this is where I am heading. I just really like wearing them with skinny jeans and boots. I feel dressed up enough, but they aren’t so dressy that I stand out at work. Our office is VERY casual. I only dress up when I am traveling and seeing clients, so about half my time, this is my preferred level of dressiness.
Granada Bib Necklace in Gold $29
Cute! I considered keeping this, but decided I only had room in the budget for one item, and the green top won. Sometimes costume jewelry seems cheap, especially gold, but this necklace seemed pretty nice. The colors are neutral, so it would go with a variety of outfits. I am going to nitpick a moment, though – I thought bib necklaces are bigger; this just seems like a… necklace. The name feels misleading.
Junarose Cecile Dress in Blue 16 $89
The photos above are pretty true to color. This dress is a dark gray, though I suppose it has a blue hue, so maybe you could call the color blue. Frankly, it is blue the way gray cats (like my kitty!) are sometimes called blue.
It is pretty much exactly kitty color. The fabric is a soft twill, very nice to the touch. That being said, it is way too big on me, and not particularly flattering.
This month’s Dia & Co was decent, but not as strong as my last box. That being said, I am not really looking for a “Keep All Five” experience. I am really happy when I keep one item per month. While getting a “keep all five” box would be awesome, budget wise, one item a month fits right in. I am looking forward to next month’s box!
