Oh the emotions! When I was first told I was going to get a date night box, I was apprehensive. What on earth could they send an older couple who has everything and has been married 25 years? Then I got the box and I got all excited. I love crafts and this was a date night for crafting. I wasn’t quite sure what my husband would think but he’ll pretty much go along with most things.

This month, you get a Wood Carving Kit from Boxed Wingman!

You’ll get a mini magazine with all the instructions for this month’s project.
The instructions are all simple and easy to follow.
Everything in my Boxed Wingman this month!
After a really nice dinner and I clean up, I prep the bar in the kitchen with the Wingman box items and 2 glasses of wine. So my husband comes into the kitchen ready for crafting in his old clothes. I send him out and tell him to put some nice clothes on… it’s date night!
For the design, I chose a wolf because it’s on the family crest. For my husband who doesn’t have a family crest, we used the fleur-de-lis, as his people came from France.
Now picture this, everything is ready and we’re ready and we begin. After 5 minutes, we knew this wasn’t going to be easy and we’re laughing and thinking of ways to do this craft. He runs out to his “man cave” shed and comes back in with big wood carving tools which were too big to use. I run to my craft room and get out my 30+ year old wood burning tool and we’re working and working and working.
Mine isn’t at all wood carving but I’m happy with the results. My husband misread the directions and didn’t look at the pictures so he carved out the inside of the design rather than carve out around the design but he likes his.
So after 2 hours, we have our wonderful crafts and we’re pleased.
In actuality, if we hadn’t completed this craft he would have been doing crossword puzzles in his office and I’d have been sewing. So this brought us together for some ingenious fun.
