February’s OwlCrate theme is Run Away with the Circus. Owl Crate is a monthly subscription of books and bookish items box. Each OwlCrate contains one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish items all matched to the monthly theme. This theme made me smile since I love a good circus and I’ve read a couple books that I can think of that took place at or with one and I’ve liked them all so I was up for another one.

OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. With the theme this month of Run Away with the Circus we got a great Big Top themed card. The detail in the prints each month is phenomenal and I love how this one not only has the circus look but also looks like a playing card design.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this months box. I love how they give little notes on why things are there and what they like about it. They even keep the theme of the card all the way through the information which is a great touch.

Everything in the February Run Away with the Circus OwlCrate.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber ($11.29) – I’ve been waiting for this one and seeing people talking about it for awhile so I was excited to get it in my box. Then, I read Stephanie’s note (see below) and she talks about Disneyland and the rides coming to life and being stuck in them and I was doubly hooked. I can’t wait to dive into this book of the Caravel and sisters and mystery. It sounds like a perfect trio.

Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the far-away, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over.

But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But she nevertheless becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with the other players in the game. And whether Caraval is real or not, she must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over, a dangerous domino effect of consequences is set off, and her sister disappears forever.

It also came with a note from the author, a signed bookplate, a quote card, and a digital card for the sneak peek of the audio book. All of this comes in a bag with the book so that it stays nice and flat and ready to go. While I was looking forward to the book already as I said above the note just sealed the deal. Whenever an author is as in love with Disney as I am then I’m even more ready to dig.

Night Circus inspired tote bag from Evie Bookish (exclusive to OwlCrate but other bags go for about $18.00) – I’ve never read The Night Circus but I love the bag and I’m adding the book to one that I look into. I love the designs by Evie Bookish whenever I get them and all of her items are top quality. This one is no exception and the red is gorgeous.

Le Cirque des Reves candle from Frostbeard Studio (exclusive to Owlcrate) – This is also based on The Night Circus and it smells divine. It has scents of caramel popcorn, roasted chestnuts and bonfire fragrances and it smells like fall and fair time to me. Crisp fall days and lots of fun. This candle is being burnt soon.

Midway Mini Donuts Lip Balm from Geek Fire Labs (another item created just for OwlCrate but other lip balms go for $4.00) – Oh my gosh this smells amazing and it goes on super smooth.

Deck of Paper Notepad by Attic Journals ($4.00) – I’m all about upcycling products and these notepads are made with scrap paper and cards leftover from casinos. They are the perfect size to have sitting next to my chair when I want to jot a quick note and on top of that they are just plain fun.

Fun & Games Page Flags by Girl of all Work ($5.50) – Stunning does not begin to describe these flags. They are gorgeous and thick and WOW really all I can say is WOW. Check out her site and her other designs. They are all gorgeous.

Each month OwlCrate also includes a pin based on the theme of the box. This month we get some fun trapeze swingers.

If you can’t tell I’m loving this month’s amazing Owl Crate. The theme was something I was really interested in and the extra goodies did not disappoint.  I can’t wait to read the book this month and to use all the other items. In addition to loving books I’m also an office supply junkie so a notepad and those stunning page flags and my heart was a flutter. I use page flags for so many things and these are some that will work right into my rotation and will be marking my notebooks for many months to come. Eehhh, I’m still giddy just looking at all these items and getting ready to put them where they belong in my house. Such a great month!

March’s theme is Sailors, Ships, & Seas and the boxes will also include an item from boygirlparty!

What did you think of this month’s amazing Owl Crate theme? Are you ready for next month’s?
