Hello Fresh is a meal kit subscription box with complete recipes and ingredients to make 3 meals every week, with each meal feeding either two or four people, depending on the plan you choose.

Though it is a subscription, you can pause your deliveries when needed – whether you are out of town, have other dinner plans, or just aren’t in love with that week’s selections. The standard subscription provides high-quality meats (free-range chicken, antibiotic meats, etc.) to use in the recipes.

DEAL: Currently, you can save $40 off your first box with coupon code 7UT7K8.

Hello Fresh has great instructions, and they are easy to follow even if you are an inexperienced cook. There are even some kitchen tips included in the information card.

Though we do eat meat, we cook vegetarian three times a week. Thankfully, Hello Fresh has a vegetarian subscription for both casual and dedicated vegetarians.

The boxes used by Hello Fresh keep all the ingredients for the recipes in order, and they stack nicely in the fridge. Within each box, everything but the largest vegetables is separately packaged and is packed at the bottom. Condiments and canned goods are provided in high-end, commercial packaging. Hello Fresh usually provides spices in their own, pre-measured branded packaging.

Rapid Butternut Squash Agnolotti With Kale In A Sage Brown Butter Sauce. 20 minutes, level 1, 638 calories per serving.
Hello again!  I’ve been on vacation to Texas and then on a cruise to the Yucatan.  Interestingly enough while in Texas visiting my 3 step-daughters, we’re fed Hello Fresh by one of them!  And we loved it.  She works from home but is on the go and says it is well worth the $.  While on the cruise we always ate in the formal dining room for our dinner and one night I selected an Indian vegetarian meal.  It came with rice, 3 bowls of curry ,2 sauces and 1 marinated veggies.  Several of the items were very similar to Hello Fresh recipes I’ve made, felt right at home. But it’s good to be home and get into the swing of things which includes Hello Fresh.

Rapid Butternut Squash Agnolotti was just as the title says, rapid. Very easy to make and very flavorful.  After being on vacation both my husband and I need to lose some pounds so I divided this dish into four. The 1/4 serving was just filling enough and we were happy. The butternut squash agnolotti has a light delicate flavor and was complimented by the sauteed kale. I don’t recall making the sage brown butter sauce before but we liked it a lot and there is a hint to use it on all types of pasta or roasted veggies.

It’s good to be home.

Game Day Black Bean Chili With Southwestern Spices. 35 minutes, level 1, 501 calories per serving.
Shhhhhhh, I don’t watch the Super Bowl. I know, I know, that is so un-American but I don’t like football so we ate this chili tonight. I’ll watch the commercials later.

The funny thing about prepping for this meal was getting my 15-year-old granddaughter to help. She wants to learn to cook. My 9-year-old granddaughter will cut and chop anything. I just couldn’t convince the 15-year-old to prep the onion or bell pepper. Oh my!

This was a delicious meal for so few ingredients and we loved the avocado slices, I ended up chopping up my slices and mixing it in my bowl. Made it even better. Once again, I was able to divide this into 4 servings.

This Supper Bowl was a real winner!

Roasted Cauliflower With Bulgur, Tzatziki, And Chili Cumin Oil. 30 minutes, level 1, 463 calories per serving.

What a day, it started out wrong and stayed that way.  Friday is usually a day I can do what I want but fate had it in for my daughter who was carrying her son into day care fell, twisted herself so she’d take the hard landing. So we end up in ER and she has a very bad sprain and deeply bruised knee.  So I’ve been back and forth to her house (she lives close by) and there’s been prescriptions and babysitting.

My highlight was Hello Fresh.  This particular recipe had a lot of little steps not depending on the other which was great because I was in between babysitting, texting the daughter, cooking for the toddler and so on.  I didn’t really have to think to deeply to cook just follow the directions.

When we finally sat down, my husband starts right in, “I can taste the lemon, and I really like this sauce, it has a little kick.  Is that dill I taste?”  He was really enjoying the meal and trying to figure out all the flavors as he didn’t help cook tonight.

My husband and I are cutting back our portion size, I divided this meal onto 4 small salad plates and it worked well with the diet plan I’m on.  The nutrition information is on the box.

Thanks Hello Fresh for a really tasty nutritious meal that is keeping me full even though I ate only 1/2 of a serving size.

We also received a $100 from NakedWines.com.
