As long as you’re an Amazon Prime Member (get a 30-day trial here), in order to get this box you’ll need the Amazon Surprise Sweets Dash Button. Invitation only, you’ll need to request your button here. Buttons are $4.99 and the purchase price will be refunded on your first order! And yes, you can press the button any time.

The information card gives you a sweet list of all the treats inside! Plus a message taunting you into pressing the button again.

All the sweets in this box!

Bonus! Fran’s Chocolate Fran’s Blend 64% ($0.69) It looks like every box has 3-4 items and a little sweet bite as a bonus!

The chocolate was nice and fruity and velvety smooth. I received this exact chocolate in the first box I bought. FYI – repeats are possible.

Salty Road Salt Water Taffy in Strawberries & Cream ($7)

I normally love salty road but the salty crunch inside the soft sweet strawberries & cream flavor? I can’t get behind that. It was weird and I yelled the entire time I ate a piece how odd it was. I ate a few more pieces from this box and it became a little friendlier, but I was just not that into this flavor. I love their other flavors and I’m sure some people liked this particular combo.

CocoaPlanet  Mandarin Orange Premium Dark Chocolate ($2.50)

CocoaPlanet Deep Dark Truffle Premium Dark Chocolate ($2.50)

Both are  All Natural, Gluten Free, Fair Trade Cacao, Verified Non-GMO, plus the orange one is Vegan.

These chocolate have “flavor pearls” that impart a burst of flavor into the dark chocolate. The box suggests pairing with wine, hot chocolate, or tasting by themselves.

They were nice large disks.

The concept behind this bar/disc is that you’re not getting overloaded with a saccharine filling, but can still get the bursts of flavor like in a traditional filled chocolate.

The one above is the truffle – Madagascar Criollo Chocolate with Arbequina Olive Oil and Pacific Sea Salt Ganache – and the composition was really balanced and perfect for pairing with a red wine.

The better-filling-balance really played out with the orange! This would have been very sweet (and very breakable) as a regular filled chocolate. It was a lot more interesting to eat this.

Craftsman and Wolves Smoked Almond Brittle ($8)

A traditional brittle with smoked almonds.

The box included nutritional info on an extra sheet.

This was really unique and I can’t say I cared for it. The smoke on the almonds was intense and it was like eating mesquite or something very smoky.  My husband and I each tasted part of a piece and stuffed it all back in the bag. I went back to retry, tasted it, and said blech.

My second venture wasn’t nearly as pleasant as the first – I think this particular curation won’t entice people into pressing the button anytime soon. The value in this box was also only $20.69. While that’s good in comparison to similar subscription boxes the flavors left a lot to be desired. Because I write plenty of reviews on this blog, I rarely give feedback to a company about their products directly, but in this case I used my Amazon orders section to provide feedback about this box. My verdict? My sweets were surprising, and not in a good way.

Did you get this particular combo? What did you think about the goodies?
