Urban Organic Gardener is a monthly subscription service that sends a collection of curated heritage garden seeds to your home at precisely the right time for growing them in your garden! When you sign up, you answer a few questions including how much experience you have with gardening; where your garden will be located; whether you plan to use containers, raised beds, land or hydroponics; and how much sunlight your plants will receive. Then the folks at Urban Organic Gardener consider where you live and put together a curated selection of organic seeds and send them to you.

Each month, your seeds will arrive along descriptions and information you’ll want to know when cultivating your plants from seeds.

DEAL: Get your first month of Urban Organic Gardener free! Use coupon code GROWSOMETHINGGREEN. Just pay $1.95 for shipping.

Also included in each shipment are garden markers and soil pellets.

For what it’s worth, this is what I told Urban Organic Gardener: I’m a beginner who plans to garden in my backyard in containers in full sun. Let’s see what they sent!

I love that Urban Organic Gardener sends me soil and markers each month. I can always use them!

I look forward to using these markers so that I know what plants are growing in what containers.

Wow! These are a lot of organic alfalfa sprout seeds! How fun! I just checked out a video online about how to sprout these. It looks like all you need is a jar, some water, a colander and about five days. I can’t wait to play around with these!

I’m excited to add this Greek oregano to my herb garden! It’ll taste great in chicken marinades this spring.

This broadleaf sage will also make a nice addition to my herb garden. In addition to using it with poultry and stuffing, my kids love touching and smelling it.

Kale is one of those plants that I know is good for me (assuming the soil I grow it in doesn’t have heavy metals in it) and that I’d like to enjoy more often. Now I’ll be able to! I look forward to discovering how best to soften its leaves.

I received a bunch of yummy salad ingredients from Mouth for Christmas this year, and I look forward to pairing them with Tom Thumb Lettuce for a delicious healthy treat this spring.

Thanks to Urban Organic Gardener, I’ve been having so much fun in my yard each morning! My son joins me regularly, and I’m thrilled that he’s so excited to join me! We love monitoring (and admiring) our fruits and vegetables as they grow and bear fruit. Since I’ve started gardening, the wildlife in my back yard has really started to flourish. I regularly see bugs of all varieties, butterflies, bees, birds and even hummingbirds! Sometimes I just look out the window admiring them all. I’m thrilled to be receiving this subscription, and I can’t wait to see what they send me next month!
