Target Beauty Box is a one-time online purchase that comes out once a month and they usually manage to sell out within hours. Target released two boxes for January and Box 1 (which I am reviewing below) was $10 plus tax with free shipping. Sign up here to get notified when they go on sale! Note: As of 1/12/17, this box was still available here.

This box was supposed to have 8 items but was missing the eb5 Facial Cream. My box must have had a bit of a rough journey because a couple of the lids were loose. The product information card listed the products included in the box and a little info about each item. It also included a coupon for $3 off a beauty purchase of $15 or more and expires on January 29th. Good to know: the coupon can be used in stores or online!

Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Day Lotion ($1.51) absorbed quickly and worked well and moisturized without using petroleum products, phthalates, or parabens. What it does have is avocado oil, jojoba oil, and a few tropical oils that I have never heard of before!

Chapstick Total Hydration Lip Scrub ($4.99) is perfect for this season and left my lips soft and minty fresh. This grainy sugar scrub also includes a mix of sunflower seed & peppermint oil, shea butter, and beeswax.

Peppermint is my favorite flavor and this product will be put to generous use this winter!

Nexxus Comb Thru Volume Finishing Mist Hairspray ($1.57) I’m a hairspray user and love the little travel sizes since they come in handy on the go! This one is medium hold and I usually like a stronger level of hold yet it worked well and had a fine mist. It doesn’t seem to matter what I use – I think I look great and by the time I get to work I look like something the cat dragged in, but this worked as well as anything!

Beautiful Nutrition Lemon Rinse Gentle Clarifying Treatment ($1.50) I used this in the shower and it instantly brightened my morning with its fresh-squeezed lemon scent! This product claims to remove build-up, prevent frizz, seal the cuticle, and promote a healthy scalp and may be used once or twice a week. I applied after shampooing and conditioning and left on for a few seconds before rinsing. It was a bit harder to comb my hair afterward but other than that my hair behaved just as it did before the treatment.

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Volume Filler Daily Re-Volumizing Moisturizer and Daily Volumizing Concentrated Serum – Magazine sample alert! Both of these one-time use items have hyaluronic acid which is supposed to restore volume to the skin and therefore make wrinkles less noticeable. The serum dried quickly and was non-sticky and the cream was pretty heavy but they both had a strong perfumey fragrance that lingered far too long.

Amlactin Moisturizing Body Lotion ($3.16) This moisturizer is supposed to gently exfoliate skin while relieving dry skin with ammonium lactate, a type of alpha hydroxy acid. It’s unscented but I couldn’t help noticing a slightly unpleasant scent that faded after a short time.

Revlon Kiss Balm in Sweet Cherry (flavor may vary, $4.99) I slicked this soother on my lips after exfoliating with the lip scrub and my lips felt silky smooth, plus it had that straight outta middle school cherry lip balm flavor.

This also has SPF 20 to keep lips protected year round.

It left just a hint of shiny color behind; here it is swatched on my inner arm, twice.

This was a nice box this month from Target full of items to help get through winter. I would have liked to have tried the eb5 moisturizer but I did find a few new items, such as the lip balm, that I enjoyed. This box had a value of $17.72 but that doesn’t include the missing product or the Revitalift samples. The eb5 was about $3.80, so the total value of the box would be about $22. We’re reaching out to Target about the missing item.

Did you grab a Target Beauty Box this month? Let me know which one you got and what you thought!
