Everything was packed well in a cooler box with several large ice packs keeping it cold. Each meal is carefully vacuum sealed in one or two packets. The meals will be good in the fridge for up to four days or in the freezer for longer storage. And, you don’t have to worry about freezer burn because the vacuum sealing helps prevent that.

Meal Time Box‘s chef selected subscription box consists of five meals that rotate to five different meals every two weeks. You can choose the 10 meal box for $8.90 per meal or the 20 meal box for $8.45 per meal. You will also get two free desserts with your box.

We received the 10 meal box (two of each meal) for our review.

They also offer a la carte meals that you can choose from for $19.98 for a two meal bundle ($9.99 a piece). Shipping is free for orders over $75.

They have a limited shipping area right now, but if you are anywhere close to their area, call and see if they would be able to ship to you. I am a little out of the shipping zone and they were willing to work with me.

Our first meal (you get two of each in the 10 meal box) was Chicken Parmesan with roasted potatoes and carrots.

“An Italian-American classic, panko-crusted and topped with melted mozzarella and basil. Made using juicy chicken thigh filets for more flavor. Heat up in the oven or on low heat, covered in a sauce pan for even better results.”

This was very good. I did warm it up in the microwave, so it wasn’t crunchy, but the flavor was awesome. I will try warming it in the toaster oven for the second meal. And, as always, their vegetables were yummy.

The second meal was Classic Meatloaf with brown rice and Brussel sprouts. Everything that meatloaf should be.  Tender, flavorful and the sauce on the top was just right. I approve.

The second meal was a dish called Pernil. A traditional Christmas dish in Puerto Rico, pernil is marinated and slow roasted pork shoulder. Our pernil came with rice and Brussell Sprouts. Did I tell you I love Brussell sprouts? They are so good! I am not much on pork, so I passed this one to the husband. He said it was delicious and very tender.

These Vietnamese Ribs were next. “Vietnamese-inspired flavors in tender pork back ribs. Marinated in a sauce of lemongrass, fish sauce, and Chinese five-spice.” So my eight-year-old daughter claimed this meal when the box came in. She said it was good and nibbled the ribs till the bones were clean. I didn’t even get to taste them. She also has dibs on the second Vietnamese Ribs meal…

This Bacon Mac & Cheese was the next meal in our box. Did you hear me?  I said, Bacon Mac & Cheese?!  They had me at bacon. Needless to say, this meal was very good. Real, melty cheddar cheese and crunchy bacon make it the perfect comfort food.

Two Rocky Road Brownies from ARV sweets were the free desserts in the box. These are chewy and good. I like to warm mine up for about 15 seconds. Perfection. They are topped with ooey gooey marshmallow, walnuts, and chocolate chips.

Meal Time Box is a great way to get the home-cooking you crave delivered to your door. The packaging is convenient and would be great to take to work or to just eat at home to save the time and mess of cooking. I love that they are freezable too, so if you order and then find you have other dinner plans for a few days you can just throw them in the freezer until you do need them.
