From Japan Crate comes Kira Kira Crate, a box dedicated to Japanese beauty! Kira Kira means “to sparkle” and with this box full of makeup, skincare, and other tools from Japan, you will sparkle as well! I’ve always loved Japanese cosmetics, but they are extremely pricey. Even the drugstore lines, adorable as they are, are costly to import. There have been a few boxes that have tried to do a J-beauty box, but it really is cost prohibitive, so I’m very excited to see what Kira Kira Crate has in store!

DEALS: Save $5 on your first box! Use coupon code HELLO.

The booklet included with the box has a brief welcome letter, a list of the products included, and additional pages give English instructions for each product.

Warming Gel Face Mask. Gel packs are huge in Japan and Asia, and this heating gel mask actually does warm up when you put it on your skin! It’s meant to help improve circulation and stimulate blood cells. In Japan, people use these in combination with half baths – hot baths where you only have water up to your stomach. This is said to help with digestion and circulation. It can be used on the face or body.

Puresmile Tea Pot Hand Lotion. O M G, this is hands down one of my favorite things in the box. Puresmile makes the sheet masks that often pop up in beauty boxes, and this tea inspired hand lotion is divine. It smells like sweet cut roses and is wonderful. Subscribers also could have been sent earl gray or lemon scented lotion.

Avance Tweety Bird Eyeliner. Another new HG! I love a good felt tip liner (my current love is the Starlooks luxe eyeliner) and the point on this one is so fine. I was able to get a reaaaally close line against my lashes for a minimalistic eye look.

Dear Laura Lipgloss. Japan and their adorable packaging will be the death of me. I love the bunny motif! The lipgloss itself is a light red tint, not really much color added but a nice glossy look.

Here’s a closer look at the eyeliner.

Biyou Shukan Face Towels. It’s always best to use a clean towel to dry your face after washing it, but I’m guilty of not doing laundry frequently enough for that. This package of disposable face towels is going to save my life – they are actually fairly absorbent and sopped up the water still on my skin.

Pure Smile Sheet Mask. Red wine is great for the skin, and this sheet mask has other ingredients in it as well to hydrate the skin.

Hair Shampoo and Mask Set. I am always up for trying new hair care from Japan; for the longest time I swore by the Shiseido Tsubaki line. This brand has rice bran in the shampoo and mask, which promotes healing for damaged and dry hair.

I like Kira Kira Crate, I really do! It’s not easy to put together a j-beauty box while keeping it affordable — you’re not exactly going to be able to fill it with Jill Stuart products! (Prettiest. Packaging. Ever.) The value of the individual items might not be super high, but they manage to include 7 items for a reasonable price and that’s a great achievement.
