Good Luck Box is a one-time gift box to send before an upcoming race or endurance event – running, cycling, triathlon, etc. Good Luck Box tailors the box based on the gender, event, time of year, and recipient’s race day goals (e.g., finishing, raising money for charity, etc.). They also have some boxes for specific events, like the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Miler and the Boston Marathon. Boxes are $39.99.

I’m reviewing a standard, women’s box. As a runner and triathlete, I was super excited to review this box… and I’ll spoil it right now – I LOVED this box. I want someone to send me one of these before all my races. Good Luck Box is totally awesome!

Here’s what I saw when I opened the box. As Good Luck Box notes: “Let’s face it, no matter the level athlete, everyone gets a little nervous before an upcoming race. The Good Luck Box™ is here to provide support, guidance, and the swagger you need so you can confidently smile at those race photographer.”

Upon opening this box, I’m feeling luckier already!

Here’s a look at everything that was in my box. According to the Good Luck Box website, each box will contain handpicked items tailored to toward the event and may include:

  • Favorite racing products and nutritional items
  • Race day essential items
  • Race tips and advice from experts
  • Running friendly recipes
  • Spoils to the victor!

On the inside of the box, there is this cute placard reminding you to recycle the box and suggesting one use – using it to store race bibs and medals. (I personally hang my medals up on the wall… but hey, not a bad idea.)

Now let’s check out the goodies!!!

Good Luck Pasta & Recipe: Look at this adorable pasta – it’s clover shaped for good luck! In addition to the pasta, Good Luck Box included a recipe for kale pesto pasta (YUM). On the back of the recipe card, they include some pre-race dinner tips – helpful for new races and even nice reminders for those of us who’ve been racing for years.

Honey Stinger Waffle and Energy Chews: Perfect for longer endurance events! I am a big fan of both of these products, although I had never tried the fruit smoothie flavor of energy chews before. I’m happy to see quality energy food in this box – stuff that real athletes use and like.

Sunglasses and Shoe Laces: These items are so fun – and useful. Plus they are mint green, which makes them even more fun.

The very best part, however, is the message on the shoe lace aglets. They say “Good Luck”! I love this! (And attached to the shoe laces are the ubiquitous safety pins… you can never have too many of these.)

Feetures Socks: OK. This is how I know the Good Luck Box people are runners, cyclists, or triathletes. I use Feetures socks myself and they are my most favorite socks – EVER. Runners (and other endurance athletes) find good socks and keep buying them. I have about 6 pairs of them already and am thrilled to get another pair!

Pony Tail Holders: A few cute ribbon pony tail holders… because what runner doesn’t need these? Even when I don’t have my hair pulled up, I usually have one of these around my wrist… which is kind of perfect for the one with the “You Got This!” charm.

Tiger Tail Roadster Foam Roller: I am so excited about this. I have a larger foam roller I use after races and hard workouts, but this one is much more portable. A perfect item for any endurance athlete!

Seattle Chocolates Truffle Chocolate Bar with Popping Champagne: This was so much fun. It’s a delicious chocolate bar (decorated with all sorts of congratulations) that has little “pops” in it… like champagne bubbles. So great for post-race celebrations!

Tea & Pop Socket: With the tea, Good Luck Box provides some data about sleeping before races (never easy) and some tips for doing so.

Pop Sockets were new to me – apparently, they enhance the use of your cell phone by adding a grip that allows you to hold it better/tighter/etc.  Hmmm.

Tea & Koozie & Soap:  Last but not least, a couple of fun items. First, a mint green Koozie with the Good Luck Box logo. Inside the Koozie was a fun card giving additional race tips – like showing up early and thanking volunteers. Next, a fun little soap with the encouraging “You Got This” phrase. Perfect.

As I mentioned at the top, I love this box. The concept is fantastic – providing the ability to send some good luck vibes and treats to your favorite endurance athlete… but the execution is also spot on. The sports gear included were clearly picked by real runners/cyclists/triathletes who know their stuff – the items were things that I actually use and love. And the other items were super fun, cute, and useful. Good Luck Box is a great treat for any athlete!
