Hamptons Lane is a monthly subscription box that is carefully curated for those of us who loves cooking, as well as discovering new cooking tools and flavors. Every month, you will receive a themed box that includes a booklet of recipes centered around the theme and between four and seven specialty tools and full-size, shelf stable ingredients. Once you sign up, each month you’ll receive an email describing that month’s new box. You can choose to skip that month without any penalty (no later than the fifth of the month), substitute another box for the current offering or, if need be, you can cancel at any time.

DEAL: Save $10 off your first box with coupon code hellosubscription10.

There are also add-ons that you can choose from for each theme. Smoked chocolate chips?! I didn’t know that was a thing. I am so tempted by the $40 add-on bundle.

And, when you go to choose your box, there aren’t just one or two alternatives. This month, there were 26 boxes that subscribers could choose from!!! And, they all look awesome. We received the Festive Baking themed box for review.

Here is the recipe booklet. Isn’t that powered sugar beautiful?

The first page of the recipe book is a note from  Hamptons Lane introducing the box and all of the exciting things in it.

Then there is a page about the companies and people who produced the box’s products. I loved reading the blurbs about the mom and pop companies.

There is also a detailed product description of every item in the box and how to use it.

Everything on this page looks delicious! I have been on two cruises and the only reason I went on the second one was to get more chocolate molten lava cake. So, that’s happening. And, the Hot Toddy Cookies, they are happening too.

The rest of the booklet were all delicious recipes. There were 12 recipes that somehow incorporate one or more of the tools and/or ingredients from the box.

This Rancho Gordo Heirloom Crimson Popping Corn ($3.75) was in the box. “This pure white, nearly hull-less popcorn is small, dense and moist, AKA – the perfect contrast to bland commodity popcorn and its cardboard texture. This rare and wonderful popcorn pops up as white as snow and delivers a flavor like no other! Makes incredible caramel corn, a great topping for brownies or holiday bark or mix up your own special spice blend for an unforgettable movie night snack! The naturally red kernels are best prepared the traditional way with a pan, a lid and some oil, but you’ll get fine results in an air-popper (but with a lower yield of fully popped corn).”

I love popcorn. Sometimes, I air pop it. Sometimes, when I am feeling decadent, I pop it in a stove top pop popper with bacon grease and a little salt. But, I always decorate it with a sufficient amount of real butter and salt.

The crimson kernels popped up snowy white and deliciously fluffy. I popped them in the air popper with a little real butter in the bottom of the bowl. (It mixes in beautifully with the warm popcorn.)

This jar of Tipsy Peach Preserves by Eat This Yum ($10) was up next. “Whether it’s being baked into delectable dutch babies or a  mouth-watering crumb cake, this boozy peach preserve does it all!  It’s made with local peaches and a splash of 100 Proof “The Knot” Irish Whiskey, which gives it a caramel essence. Serve it with scones, use it as a glaze on pork chops, pour over vanilla bean ice cream or with a savory baked ricotta dip.”

This was delicious! We tried it out on some bread that was in the box (further down). And, the all glass container was cute and reusable.

This Hot Toddy Custom Sugar Blend by Butter & Scotch ($5.99) was in the box. “This blend is sugar, spice and everything nice! Make caramel corn that will knock your socks off and sugar cookies so good that there won’t be any left to leave out for Santa. Use to rim cocktails or bake it into a molten chocolate lava cake. You’ll want to include this delicious sugar blend in all your holiday baking endeavors!”

So, I did it.  The molten chocolate lava cakes recipe worked. It was delicious. And I am in really big trouble. As in, I just had molten chocolate lava cake for breakfast kind of trouble. (See pictures of my demise further down.)

This Set of 4 – 6oz Textured Ramekins by BIA Cordon Bleu ($14.99) were in the box. “Make your favorite dish or dessert with this set of 4 6oz textured ramekins in classic white from BIA Cordon Bleu, California. From contemporary patterns to classic designs, their dinnerware is created by skilled artisans to ensure the highest quality product. Ideal for baking up desserts like creme brulee, savory breakfast puddings, or use for a simple yet elegant serving dish! Microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe, these ramekins resist chipping, cracking and staining.”

Aren’t these cute? I love that Hampton Lane sends items like this that you can use a lifetime in their subscription boxes! The ones with the dots is my favorite. I used these to make the molten chocolate lava cakes in… So good!!!

Just look at that ooey gooey chocolate oozing out of the center. I’m going to have to take up running so that I can eat more of these.

The last item in our box was this Soberdough Rosemary Bread Mix ($8.95). “This bestselling bread is favorite at our office! A savory blend of herbs and fresh cracked pepper makes for a whirlwind of flavor. This bread is a wonderful compliment to Italian dishes, or great to snack on with some olive oil. Each loaf is baked with a bottle of beer of your choosing – from Budweiser to craft beer, get as creative as you like! Club soda also works just as well to make quick and easy loaves or muffins or a tasty chicken pot pie! Vegan and Kosher, this mix contains no soy, no dairy, no oils, and no nuts and is made from 100% natural ingredients.”

I used a sparkling lemonade to mix up the batter.

The bread baked up beautifully! It was light and fluffy with a palate pleasing savory taste.

The sweetness of the peach preserves balance the savory of the bread wonderfully.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Hamptons Lane box.  I really like that they send full-size products that encourage you to branch out but are still practical and not too hard to use. And, the addition of products, like the ramekins, that will last a lifetime is awesome!
