Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty subscription service that sends 4-7 items ranging from unique cosmetics to luxurious skin care. Best of all, they are 100% cruelty-free! Monthly recurring shipments are $22.95 with free shipping in the USA (there is an additional charge for other countries). This sub is also available in 6 or 12-month terms that do not renew but that do earn you a discount.

Vegan Cuts doesn’t offer customization and sends items that are suitable for almost everyone. They promise not to send foundation or other items that match a specific skin tone and instead send makeup items that are as inclusive as possible with possible variations in shades. They also promise a value of at least $30 but have sent boxes that are significantly above that mark. Vegan Cuts sends deluxe “travel” sized or full-sized products and rarely sends single use packets.

There was a product information card that included a coupon code for a shop purchase and info on how you can win a free box by sharing your box on social media.

The flip side of the card listed each item and the retail value. It also gave the theme, which for December was “A Toast to Cruelty-Free Beauty” and was co-curated with Leaping Bunny!

Subscribers who signed up for a 6 or 12-month subscription during Black Friday will receive a bonus beauty bag! This bag is too big to fit in a purse but perfect for carrying my makeup on vacation.

It looks like Juice Beauty Green Apple Shampoo ($4.50) and Conditioner ($4.50) are gone from the Juice Beauty site and a new hair care line called Juice Organics has taken its place so I feel kind of let down, like this is old stock. On the positive side, I liked the formula of this duo and they didn’t weigh down my fine, thin hair plus I had a good hair day!

Modish Polish in Control Freak ($12) is 5-free and high shine and the perfect shade for this time of year! According to the company this shade is a “power-tripping dark red lacquer that is obsessively savvy.”

This is one coat of nail color plus a fast drying topcoat. I usually stick to lighter colors due to my horrible application technique, but I feel elegant every time I look at my hands.

Crazy Rumors Leaping Bunny Lip Balm ($3.99) is a plum-apricot flavor and a nice change from the usual minty flavors I seem to get. A portion of the sales from this product that features macadamia and jojoba seed oils, shea butter, and olive oil will go to The Leaping Bunny Organization!

Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Beautiful Day Cream ($5.99) has alpine rose stem cells to hydrate and soothe sensitive skin while hyaluronic acid and aloe restore the skin’s lipid barrier. I think my dry skin needs a little bit more moisture than what this provides so I will pair it with an oil.

DeVita Absolute Softlines Eyeliner Pencil in Absolute Obsidian ($14.95) was disappointing. It was black, which I understand is universal but also too harsh for some of us, ahem, mature women. It also broke as I swatched it, which gave me a chance to try the sharpening cap. It just wouldn’t glide smoothly and tugged at my eyes and I felt like I was trying to line my eyes with a Crayola pencil. The smudge sponge on the end was a nice touch but in the end, there was nothing to smudge and I gave up and switched to my standby from Revlon.

See, broken!

This month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box was full of practical items as well as a couple of makeup items that are ideal for New Year’s Eve parties (but I will skip that liner)! I feel good knowing that “no bunny was harmed” in the making of these items, too! This box had a value of $45.93, which is well above the promised value of $30!
