A few weeks ago Target made available a Self Wellness Box and Family Wellness Box for $9.99 each (previously at $9.99) or FREE when you buy $30+ in health items! [FYI- If you use those links it looks like they are still available, but the promotion is expired. If it returns again we’ll post about it – be sure to grab notifications if you’re interested at the top of the post!]

This is a review of the Target Self Wellness Box.

Be at your best with Target’s Wellness Box. This must-have box has a little bit of everything, from vitamins to probiotics to skin care to on-the-go nutrition, to help you get through your busy days while taking care of you. So, enjoy these samples (a $35 value!). If you like them as much as we do, you can find the full-sized versions at Target and target.com/selfwellnessbox.

Target claimed that this box was valued at over $35.

The box came with a fold-out information card and coupon booklet.

Coupons, and more coupons! The free $5 Target GiftCard with $25 purchase certainly caught my eye. It’s good for a couple of months and it works on stuff we all need!

The coupons had $17.50 in value (I write this because the box total didn’t come anywhere near what was promised, read on!).

Everything in my Wellness Box!

target-wellness-box-november-2016-3

Vega Protein + Snack Bar – Chocolate Peanut Butter ($1.75) Plant-based protein you can sink your teeth into.

Vega Vitamins Drink Mix – Blackberry Currant ($1) Nutritional support made from real, plant-based ingredients. Just add water.

This is a new brand to me that I hadn’t really had a chance to try out, so I was happy to see them here. I am always (always!) looking for a tasty protein bar and I love flavored water! The bar is on my re-buy list!

UP4 Adult Probiotic Capsules with 15 Billion CFU ($2.83) Clinically formulated to replenish the probiotic bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract to help promote regularity and relieve occasional digestive discomfort.

Tums Ultra Strength Cherry Chewy Antacid (24¢) A cherry-flavored soft chew that delivers fast heartburn relief.

Benefiber On-The-Go Stick Pack (39¢) An easy way to add extra fiber to almost any beverage.

This box was a good way to stock up on some travel-sized health goodies or just try them out. We packed the Tums in our diaper bag and we’ll try out the other two items.

Core Power Protein Shake ($1.75) Big on protein—and flavor.

Everyone in our family likes chocolate protein shakes, this one went in a snap.

target-wellness-box-november-2016-7

Oatmega Nutrition Bar ($1.50) 14 grams of whey protein for an on-the-go energy boost or between-meals snacking.

Yay for more protein bars! I loved that this one was filled with omega-3s, but it would have been nice to provide some flavor variety – the other bar was chocolate peanut too.

target-wellness-box-november-2016-13

Nexcare Sensitive Skin Bandage (35¢) Gentle on sensitive skin yet secure. Plus, they’re repositionable.

Breathe Right Nasal Strips (75¢) These easy-to-apply strips help you stop snoring and start sleeping better.

Some more gear for a travel bag – ouchless bandages and snore strips. Not sure if I should stick them on my kids or my husband.

target-wellness-box-november-2016-11

Metamucil Sugar-Free Fiber Powder (64¢) Pre-measured and ready to mix.

Seriously this box was a gold mine for all the stuff you might need when you vacation. If it comes around again, I’d recommend picking one up just to have all these things.

target-wellness-box-november-2016-10

Advil Film-Coated Rapid Release Pain Reliever Tablets (40¢) Fast-acting relief for headaches, muscle aches, toothaches, menstrual cramps, back pain and more.

Advil is always great. I love getting the brand name ones because the coating is better.

target-wellness-box-november-2016-4

Tampax Pocket Pearl Compact Plastic Tampons (58¢) Full-size protection that fits in your pocket.

This box had a coupon inside too! You could stack it with the coupon for the gift card and even get a little more savings.

target-wellness-box-november-2016-5

REVO Lip Balm ($2.49) Fun, hydrating flavors that fight dry, chapped lips. Buyers will receive one of 5 flavors including Vanilla Mint, Acai Berry, Kiwi Watermelon, Coconut Blueberry and Strawberry Dragon Fruit.

target-wellness-box-november-2016-6

This lip balm was pretty much like EOS lip balms, and had a tasty vanilla mint flavor.

target-wellness-box-november-2016-12

Mederma +SPF 30 Scar Cream (32¢) A unique formula that reduces the appearance of scars while protecting your skin.

Finally just a quick sample of some scar cream – you’d really need to keep using this to see if it had any effects, but a coupon was on the back for $3.

The products in the box (calculating for even the free samples and rounding up on everything) had a total value of $14.99 – half the advertised value! There were an additional $17.50 in coupons in the booklet, and $9+ in coupons on the packages (I tossed the inserts for the Nexcare & BreatheRight before I thought about the value! Sorry!). While you could easily stack the coupons with the gift card coupon to get a really great deal (the $25 spend required by the gift card promo is before coupons) I really think the value advertised should be in the products in the box.

To Target’s credit, they did advertise the Self Wellness box with these exact size products in the photo, and I am happy with what I got, I just think they should be accurate on the value and rely only on products.

What did you think of the Self Wellness Box from Target?
