This month’s artist is Matt Harrison Clough, and we received a card with information about the artwork and a short interview with the artist. He creates clever, colorful, conceptual illustrations.

The piece is called “The Outsider.” It’s a reminder that it’s okay to fly out of formation. I love that it’s kind of informal and matted in color so you can post it anywhere for a special treat. The heavy duty paper makes me believe that it will last for a while even if I’m using push pins.

My monthly surprise is a beautiful blank card that I can color myself. I love adding my personal touch to a handwritten card without having to create it first. The card stock is great quality and I don’t have to worry about markers bleeding through messing up my heartfelt words.

A wonderful quote from Pablo Picasso, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” Personally, I think this is so true. As a kid, I loved to draw and now I need directions to be creative. What a great reminder of all I thought I could be through younger eyes and maybe the push I need to get there.

This sis such a different subscription. Neatly packaged without anything that’s going to go to waste. I wish there were a great way to display my new art work in a frame with the artist information without taking from either item. I love the quotable postcard because it speaks to my soul and makes me want to encourage my kid to keep being an artist just because she loves it. I’m excited to see the other art that will be brought to my door but also I love that there are so many mediums to work with and be considered an amazing artist.

What did you think of this month’s prints from Papirmass ?
