Beauteque offers two subscriptions featuring Asian beauty products delivered to your door monthly. Products include makeup, skin care, body care, and more. For $22 per month, your BB Bag comes with 6-8 full-size products. If you like masks, the Mask Maven subscription brings you 9-11 various masks monthly starting at $14. The following is a review of the October 2016 BB Bag.

The October Beauteque BB bag!

Hanaka Hyaluronic Acid Sleeping Pack ($15.00): I couldn’t find this on the Beauteque site, but it is listed at $11.90 on YesStyle.com. This over-sized tub will provide you with many nights usage – a small amount really does cover the face well! The sleeping pack is infused with hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C, and jojoba oil. It also contains moisturizing and brightening ingredients such as aloe, cactus, and camellia extracts. Use this as the last step in your nightly routine to enhance moisture in your skin. The pink and yellow beads in the gel dissolve quickly. This did leave my skin a little tacky. I have combination skin and didn’t notice much of a difference the next morning.

A’Pieu Lip & Eye Makeup Remover – Mineral Eau-Marine ($13.00): There’s a small price discrepancy here. Beauteque has this listed on their site as $10.99, not $13.00. This is a bi-phase makeup remover, so you will need to shake it before using. It did a nice job of removing my waterproof eye makeup and didn’t irritate my contacts. Some subscribers may have received this in Mineral Sweet Rose.

KAO Megurhythm Steam Hot Eye Mask – Lavender Sage ($2.50 each): This is another item that I wasn’t able to find on the Beauteque site. You can purchase a box of 14 masks for $12.68 on Amazon.com, dropping the price to $0.91 per mask. These masks come in a wide range of scents, so other subscribers may have received fragrances such as Chamomile Ginger, Fresh Mint, or even Yuzu. The mask self-heats when exposed to air (similar to hand warmers) and releases aroma-therapeutic scents to relax you. I like that the mask has ear straps to keep it in place, and the lavender scent is so nice. These would be great for a flight or long road trip.

Vacci Royal Luminant Auto Eyeliner Pencil ($10.99): This was also not listed on the Beauteque site. I found a similar eyeliner from Vacci on ebay.com for $6.90. This is a retractable eyeliner with a built-in sharpener. The creamy formula glides on smoothly for a waterproof finish. A girl can never have enough black eyeliner!

Mediheal Peelosoft XP Shot ($11.99):  Subscribers received one of three formulas. The one that I received was the Clear Shot, an acne spot treatment. Others may have received either the Mild Shot (for exfoliation) or the Black Pore Shot (for blackheads and oily skin conditions). These shots use BHA and AHA to exfoliate the skin. Insert the end of the swab into the lid of the solution tube, then dip the swap into the solution. Next, rub the swab over your face (avoid eye and lip areas).

Mystery Beauty Brush ($10.00):  Subscribers were given brushes valued at $10 as a mystery item. Brush options included hair brush, foundation brush, contour brush, pore brush, and more. I received a rainbow volume brush. Although this is branded Beauteque, it was not on their site. Prices for similar brushes varied, and I’ve linked to a brush on Amazon.com. The brush features a rubberized handle for easy gripping and rainbow-colored wavy bristles. There is also a small mirror on the back of the brush. I passed this onto a friend. With my curly hair, I don’t use a brush very often.

Let’s not forget this month’s BB Bag. I love the black and white Swiss dot pattern. Tres chic! This cute nylon bag is fully lined.

Here’s a look at the interior of the bag. It has decent room for makeup or other small items.

And here’s me with one of the KAO eye masks on. No, I am not in pain – that’s my concentration face. It is hard to get a selfie when you can not see yourself.

Using the prices listed, this month’s Beauteque BB Bag contained nearly $66 worth of product (my prices = $54). That’s more than double the cost of a single month. I think the items make sense with the theme as they’ll have you looking more refreshed after a long night. Do you have any products that are part of your recovery ritual? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Share your tips by leaving a comment below.

On a side note: Before trying any Asian cosmetic subscription, expect that most information on the package will be in the native language. That said, more and more brands are including directions/ingredients in English, and information can also be found in English on the majority of brands’ websites (you may have to choose a brand’s global or US site). Secondly, a large number of products focus on brightening or whitening the skin. As a person of color, I have not seen my skin color change. Instead, I’ve experienced that my skin tone gets evened out after prolonged use. However, your results may be different. And lastly, many products contain ingredients which are animal-derived, so these may not be an option if you are vegan. You can also check out cosDNA.com to see if the ingredients for the product are listed there.
