Next is a monthly candle subscription from NEST Fragrances. In every box you’ll get a classic and a votive candle, curated based on a single seasonal theme or fragrance, plus a bonus surprise gift, all packaged in a beautifully giftable box!
This subscription is $56 per box, but you must subscribe for 3 or 6 months at a time. You can see the upcoming scents on their site, so it makes it a little easier to decide whether or not you’d like to sign up. However, your card will be charged monthly for this subscription, not all at once!
This box! If there’s one thing I expect with a high end subscription, it’s that it should have great packaging, and this one definitely does.
The fragrance of the month for December is BIRCHWOOD PINE. According to the card, the mood should be “Nostalgic.”

The velvet gift boxes on these candles are so pretty! This subscription is designed as one cohesive gift, but if you don’t like the scent or need a gift in a pinch you can totally break it up and gift one of the candles.
The candles do come with lids – one thing I discovered is that the Nest fragrances wax blend is quite soft, to enhance the sillage of the scent. You can smell these candles even if they haven’t been lit.
The vessels for the candles this month are just absolutely lovely. I will definitely be reusing them.
The size of the classic candle is substantial – coming in at 50-60 hours of burn time. The votives are 20 hours, and I have to say that’s accurate, if not generous. It takes a while just to get through a votive. This is a high quality candle.
The scent comprises white pine, fir balsam and birchwood over a base of rich musk and amber. It’s like a super luxe Christmas Tree and exactly what you want to smell for the holidays, a “majestic winter forest”!
Hearth Votive Candle ($16) Every box includes an additional gift, and I was surprised that this month’s was a candle!
This brown glassed candle has nice gold accents, and it smells exactly as you’d imagine: a wintertime fire created by combining rich oud wood with frankincense and hints of smoky embers.
This is such a lovely subscription to give or receive every month! The value of this month is $72, and I think it was great to get an additional fragrance to layer in with the wintry birchwood pine!
