These cards are great if you want to break up this box for gifts.

luxor-box-november-2016-14Here are the items in the Luxor November box!

Etiquette Charming Trio Metallic Red/Gray Socks ($20)

Etiquette Charming Trio Metallic Baby Green/Rose Socks ($20)

These are fancy, sparkling socks!

luxor-box-november-2016-3The world’s finest socks are made in Italy! I don’t wear long socks, so these will be gifted. Usually to my bestie, but these socks aren’t big enough for her feet.

luxor-box-november-2016-5Halcyon Days Zebra Print Black & Palladium Pendant ($150) I decided to pick up this box because I was intrigued at the promise of a “glitz, glam, and sparkle” piece from Halcyon Days.

luxor-box-november-2016-6While it’s very nice, this doesn’t fit my personal definition of glitz glam and sparkle. It’s shiny. The chain is about 24 inches long.

luxor-box-november-2016-7Cote Seaside Holiday Set ($64) This is at least glitzy and glam!

luxor-box-november-2016-8This holiday set includes No. 45 Bronze Gold bold, No. 26 Lush Red, and No. 109 Crushed-Ice Silver. This is a nice inclusion in the box but woefully overpriced ($64 value for 3 small polishes). If you tend to get any subscription boxes whatsoever, you’ll already be stocked on polish.

luxor-box-november-2016-10Rose et Marius The 13 Christmas Desserts of Provence Scented Candles  ($40) Speaking of ridiculous pricing, $40 for 2 candles! I don’t care if they’re French or luxury, let’s be reasonable. They’re palm size and are refills for the Rose et Marius tumbler, which I do not own. This should have been a bonus for continuing subscribers; they’re not very valuable to me because I have nothing to use them in. Here’s the scent description (I find this nod to summer confusing).

Head notes: nougat black and white nougat; Heart: gingerbread; Base notes: dried dates and figs: “An irresistible call to a summer siesta in the shade of the fig tree”

luxor-box-november-2016-11Kosta Boda Contrast Ornament ($50)  This glass ornament is mouth-blown in Sweden.

luxor-box-november-2016-12I missed the spoiler for the box – red & blue were shown, which I like quite a bit more than this brown/orange one. I wouldn’t have bought the box had I seen the glass ornament spoiler. Or maybe it’s the red? I find it unattractive at best.img_9425

I bought 99¢ clear plastic ornaments at Walmart.

My 2-year-old child was responsible for this masterpiece! I gave him a red marker and held up the ornament for him. I think it’s pretty! Said 2 year old is the reason I wouldn’t have bought the box because of the glass ornament (and really, the color on it is highly disappointing!).

luxor-box-november-2016-13Dartington Beehive Votive Holder in Amber ($25) Another orange item. I had hopes of a different color (some subscribers received purple), but alas, I received amber. It included a tealight candle and would give off a pretty warm glow, but I didn’t light it because I’ll be gifting this item.

This box had approximately $364 in retail value. Unfortunately, not a single item matched my personal preferences. This box matched the “warmth” in the advertised theme, but I think failed on the glitz. They covered the glam with the polish and sparkle with the socks.

I have total sticker shock about the prices they say this stuff is worth! I hate to say it but I would be disappointed if this was even at the POPSugar price point. That ornament….oh my its really not attractive…your little one’s version is much better!

I was excited to receive the Rose et Marius candles because I have the tumbler. I also received the purple beehive and placed a flameless candle in it. The rest was not to my taste.

lol, I preferred the ornament your child created. I appreciate the honest review. I wouldn’t have liked any of those items either.

I agree with you …this just isn’t what I would expect for a pricy box. I like the socks but none of the rest. Sorry it was a bust for you. 🙁
