Everything in the December 2016 Galaxy Crate! I immediately recognise my two absolute FAVOURITE anime series in this box — can you guess which?

Loot Anime Yume Galaxy Phone Charm Loot Anime always includes exclusive art for their posters and keychains. It’s a great way to avoid licensing issues with using someone else’s art/property while still creating a unique brand of their own that people come to associate with Loot Anime — one of my other favourite anime sub boxes, Anime Bento, does something similar to great effect. Yume means “dream”! I love anything to do with space, so the kawaii astronaut is adorable!

Robotech Led Lamp This is too cool for words. Photos aren’t going to do this thing justice, honestly. Robotech came out in 1985 — that’s the year I was born! It’s probably one of the earliest mecha anime series, along with other series like Macross (1982!) and Gundam (1979).

The base is sturdy and has an easy to use on/off switch.

Well, I said it wouldn’t be easy to get a good photo, but you can appreciate the effort!

Space Patrol Luluco This keychain comes packaged in a pretty velvet bag with a printed tag — love the attention to detail. I had to google Space Patrol Luluco, as it isn’t a series familiar to me. This is actually a very recent series which ran only 13 episodes from April-June 2016. Luluco is a schoolgirl living in a space colony who has to join the Space Patrol to save her father. Space Patrol Luluco is produced by Trigger, which also produced another of my favourite series, Kill La Kill!

This keychain is gorgeous! I’m not sure what the significance of the crystal heart is, and I didn’t want to google too much and risk getting spoiled. But it’s absolutely beautiful!

Sailor Moon Moon Stick Bottle Opener Yeah, I screamed. Sailor Moon will forever and always be the first anime series to fully capture my heart. I’ve been a fan for over 20 years, and have absorbed every bit of media from the manga, to the awful American dub, to the original Japanese series that’s like a billion episodes, to the live action sentai series, to the 20+ stage musicals… who else remembers that SNES game?

Yeah, I think I can safely throw out all my other bottle openers. This is all I need.

Sailor Moon R: The Movie is being re-released in theaters for a limited run in January! It features a new and uncut English dubbed track, as well as some locations will maintain the original Japanese audio.

Here’s the plot synopsis. If you’re not familiar with the Japanese character names, Usagi = Serena, Mamoru = Darien/Tuxedo Mask. (Don’t be ashamed – most of us started with the dub!)

Ein Plushie And the screaming continues. If Sailor Moon is my #1, Cowboy Bebop would be my #2. Cowboy Bebop is about space cowboys (bounty hunters). Ein is short for Einstein, a data dog that’s incredibly smart. What makes Cowboy Bebop one of the most critically acclaimed series was that following lackluster written/translated dubs like Sailor Moon, the English voice cast for Cowboy Bebop, along with the superior translation and localisation, was as exceptional as the original Japanese. Seriously, it’s one of the few series where if given a choice, I’ll watch with the English audio just because everyone is so great.

I actually have another Ein plushie from the original merchandise run. This one is softer, squishier, and a bit smaller.

I love corgis, look at that cute lil puppy butt!

This month’s Loot Anime knocked it out of the park for me — the space theme was of course going to thrill me, I found a new series to check out, and it included items from my top 2 anime series of all time.
