The Review by Byrdie is a new limited edition box by the Byrdie editors, and is now available at Amazon! This box is a limited-edition collection of beauty editor favorites valued at $330.

DEAL: This box is currently priced at $80, representing a limited time 15% discount through 12/16.

We’re all noting with intense interest that big FIRST EDITION! Will there be more? We all hope so (spoiler alert, this box is amazing, buy it right now!).

Curated by beauty lovers, for beauty lovers. This my friends is what it’s all about. Get the box.

I noticed immediately that basically everything is full size, in full retail packaging. My only complaint is that there weren’t quite enough squiggles, and it was a little ugly when I opened the box.

SMITH & CULT Lash Dance Mascara ($28) This full-size mascara is a wow! You do not need to curl or even use more than one coat – I love that it doesn’t get clumpy, nor flaky!

It has a tapered brush that can reach even the shortest lashes and is perfect for creating a dramatic look, and I am all about big wow lashes (otherwise why bother?!). This is right up there with my other favorite mascaras!

TATCHA Enriching Renewal Cream ($185) With the pricing on this box, it’s obvious that it’s a must-buy if you like, use, or want to try this Tatcha Cream!

Plus it’s a mini unboxing experience inside the box!

I always take far too many photos of Tatcha goodies.

This is a moisturizing cream equipped with hyaluronic acid and anti-oxidants. It works well even with sensitive skin and this full-size item is perfect to help you cope with winter and the dryness it brings!

I love the little gold spoon!

Aside from being a moisturizer, it can also reduce fine lines and wrinkles by promoting microcirculation on the skin’s surface.

ORIBE Dry Texturizing Purse Spray ($22) This travel-size texturizing spray acts as a dry shampoo and a hair spray, adds great volume, and smells fantastic. We all know how busy things are during the holidays – this spray is going to be pretty useful for a quick, no-fuss hairstyle! I love how it’s always in high end luxe boxes around the holidays – time to stock up!

SMITH & CULT Tainted Lip Stain in Mad Heat ($24) Loving this red lip stain! It glides on velvety but has a matte finish when it dries.

Great color, great coverage. Plus, it’s long wearing and the packaging (as with all Smith & Cult products) is gorgeous.

This limited-edition lip color is called Mad Heat. What a perfect red color – it’s cranberryish on the fuchsia side while still being deep red.

ILIA Polka Dots & Moonbeams Illuminator ($34) Using illuminators like this one is a great beauty secret – it can help make you look younger, ethereal, and other-worldly, depending on how you apply it!

The organic ingredients for this highlighter are combined with Rose Hip Oil which is believed to have healing effects on the skin – one thing is for sure, it glides on really smoothly and easily!

Another great thing about this illuminator is that it leaves a dewy glow on the skin. You can apply it to your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, and brow bones! If you blend it in with your fingertips (like I did on top) you can tap the inner corner of your eyes too!

JINSOON Nail Polish in Oratorio ($18) A classic nude nail color for winter? I want to describe this as lingerie for your nails – it’s inspired by the costuming in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly with a slight shimmer finish. It dries quickly and is vegan-friendly and even provides UV protection for your nails.  You do have to remove the outer cap to apply this one.

I don’t know how well the color works for me. What do you think?

VERSO Deep Hydration Mask  ($18.75) One GMO-free and sulfate-free mask to keep the skin soft and hydrated! This one is a two part mask (with separate top and bottom halves) to ensure the best fit on your face.

The Deep Hydration Mask can keep the skin hydrated for up to 120 hours, which seems insane! I have super dry skin so the clock is ticking on how long my face feels moisture infused – so far so good!

Some subscribers received the Intense Facial Mask. Both use Retinol 8 which helps in making the skin appear younger.

As expected, the box was full of luxe items and had a great variety. Valued at $330, Byrdie Beauty Limited Edition Box definitely gave a lot of bang for the buck and was ridiculously luxe. Plus, although I’ve used most of the brands represented in the box, I hadn’t tried all of them, and nearly all the products were new to me – a really amazing feat! I rarely say go forth and buy this box immediately, but in this case it’s warranted – don’t miss out on this one!
