Beauteque offers two ways to get your fill of (mostly) Korean beauty products each month: BB Bag contains 6-8 full-sized products such as makeup, skin care, body care, and more for $24 per month; Mask Maven brings you 9 different masks for $15. Both subscriptions are offered in 1, 3, 6, or 12-month terms that will automatically renew until canceled.

This was my first experience with Mask Maven (and pretty much masks in general), so I was pretty excited to give it a shot. The following is a review of November’s Mask Maven, whose theme was Fall in Love with your Skin.

The masks came in a cute little bag – I received nine masks for the month.

In addition to the bag with masks, there were two information cards.

DEAL: Save 10% on the BB bag or Mask Maven with coupon code CRATEJOY10.

On the back of the theme card, there was a listing of included masks. It was super helpful for me as a mask neophyte, as it also explained the purpose of each mask and how to use it. Additionally, the card explained many of masks’ ingredients and how they work.

The other enclosed card provided a calendar with a plan for using the masks. This was so helpful for me to think about how to appropriately space out the masks through the month. The calendar also provides other tips and hints about the masks and more!

Annie’s Way Honey Deep Moisturizing Mask ($1.99/each): This mask includes honey to help heal and protect the skin from the elements. It is also incredibly moisturizing! My face looked almost dewy after I used this.

Annie’s Way Peptide Anti-Wrinkle Mask ($1.99/each): This mask plumps up fine lines and wrinkles.

A’Pieu Sweet Melon Mask ($1.99/each): This mask includes anti-oxidant rich melon extract to prevent damage and milk protein to soothe and calm irritated skin. I thought this mask made my skin feel very nice. I also loved the sweet melon scent – very relaxing.

Holika Holika Baby Silky Hand Mask ($3.99): I’ll have to say, there’s something a little creepy about baby hands… but putting that aside, this was a nice mask. My hands get super dried out during the winter so I was glad to see this hand mask in the box. I’m not sure I ended up with baby hands, but this mask certainly softened up my dry skin.

AngelLooka Collagen Facial Mask ($2.20): This mask has ginseng root, soybean, and aloe vera extracts, as well as collagen, to firm skin and create a healthy glow. I definitely thought my skin looked better after using this mask.

Aritaum Bamboo Charcoal Blackhead Nose Patch ($1.99): Last, but not least, this month’s masks included a blackhead/nose patch. I passed this one along to my teenage daughter, as she is much more concerned with blackheads than I am. She said the charcoal mask smelled a little funny, but other than that, she said it made the pores on her nose look smaller and cleaner.

So, like I said, this is my first experience with masks and I am really pleased. For those of you who may also be mask neophytes, I’ll share a picture of me testing out one of the face sheet masks. Not only do they do amazing things for your skin, but you can also scare small children or other unsuspecting victims!

Because the masks are generally from Asia, the notes and instructions on the packaging are sometimes in a language other than English (or in both English and another language). The information card is super helpful in this respect – providing notes about ingredients and use.

The value of masks in this box is $20.12 and provides a nice variety, so it’s definitely worth the subscription price. To be honest, to sit quietly for 15-20 minutes is a small luxury… and to end up with nicer skin on top of that – I think I’ve definitely become a huge fan of these masks. Not sure if I’m a Mask Maven yet, but I definitely recommend trying out this subscription, especially if you’re new to masks, like I am.
