Baker’s Krate is a Canadian subscription that sends you a box of delicious desserts once a month. The bakeries featured are all Canadian! Up until the fall, the company was owned and operated out of Winnipeg and featured a selection of great bakeries from that area. They have since changed ownership and now operate out of Toronto. I haven’t really enjoyed the curation as much since the changeover, but I’m still hoping that there will be improvement based on subscribers’ feedback and reviews.

If you *are* Canadian, be sure to like the new Hello Subscription Canada page on Facebook and follow Hello Subscription Canada on Instagram!

DEAL: Save 10% on your first month with coupon code SWEET.

The new product card looks a bit more sleek and professional than the previous version. Expiration dates are provided for all items.

An in-depth ingredients list is included for all of the items; previously, this was on a separate piece of paper but it’s now on the reverse.

We were sent an additional card with information about the bakeries featured.

Everything is always packaged very carefully in Baker’s Krate, which I really appreciate!

Christmas Shortbread. This trio of shortbread is from Market Fresh. The one with raspberry jam was my favorite – the other two had chocolate and almonds.

Gingerbread. This snowflake cookie was very crunchy. I liked the strong gingerbread flavor.

Peanut Butter Balls These were my favorite – they tasted like giant Reese’s Pieces!

Red Velvet Cake Pop. This cake pop was moist and sweet, and the chocolate covering was quite rich. I liked it a lot.

Fruitcake. This fruitcake has loads of candied fruit inside and a thick coating of icing.

I’m trying really hard to give Baker’s Krate a chance because I really love the idea of a Canadian sweets box. But for me, personally, I really haven’t gotten excited about it like I used to. I miss the bakeries they used to feature and am still waiting for them to introduce me to something I can’t get enough of. I loved the cake pop and the peanut butter balls this month, and the rest was good.
