Ann Williams Monthly Craft Box is the coolest monthly craft club that you’ll surely get hooked on! It comes in a plain brown box which was stamped on the side. I’m a huge stamper so this really jumped at me and I love it. When signing up for the Ann Williams box, you can select the age group that you are interested in. They range from 6-8 all the way up to Adult. I got the Adult box for me, but you can see all the other crafts in this month’s boxes below.

When I opened the box, I was so intrigued. I couldn’t tell what was in there since all I could see was the paper packing and some orange tissue paper. I did like that the welcome note was right on top but it didn’t give any hints as to what was inside.

How exciting that they wrapped each of the boxes in its own tissue paper.

This month’s projects are tassel necklaces and paper bowls. Each project comes in its own box with all the supplies and instructions right inside.

First up was the tassel necklaces. When I went to dump out the box I was pleasantly surprised to see that all the supplies were in their own bags and the bags were attached to a board in the box. This really kept everything from moving around and getting all messed up.

The tassel necklace project came with supplies for three necklaces and the instructions for all of them. They were very detailed and gave written instructions as well as pictures to help you along.

First up was a charm necklace. This is a great charm on a rope chain that would be great on its own or layered with other pieces.

Next up, I tried the large tassel necklace and as you can see, I had some issues. I followed the instructions and wrapped it around the cardboard in the correct size but I’m not sure if I pulled too tight or if this is the wrong type of thread but mine did not lay down straight like the pictures showed and I was expecting. It was a great project except for the final turn out. I actually knew how to make tassels from my scrapbooking and crafting but I’d never thought about making it into a necklace so I’m thinking I might grab some thicker thread that won’t curl quite so much and try it again sometime.

Once I got this one to turn out like this I was a bit flustered so I decided to skip the last necklace. I need to play around with it a bit more to see if I can figure out how to keep my tassels from curling so instead of ruining even more thread, I just set it aside for another rainy day when I can play.

The second craft was to make some paper bowls. This one too was all tucked in the packaging and everything was held nicely in spot.

I followed the instruction and laid out some newspaper on my table before I got started.  This kit came with three different size bowls to choose from and lots of paper circles to create with.

The instructions for this project were also well written and the pictures were very helpful when trying to figure it out.

I decided to start with the medium size bowl and it was not as easy as I was originally thinking it would be. I had a hard time getting the paper discs to lay flat and even in the end, they popped up a bit. As you will see below they did hold together but they are not smooth and flat on the outside.

Here is the bowl once I peeled it away from the plastic form. This project takes awhile to make as you have to let it dry and reapply the glue multiple times after you get the discs down and then you have to wait for 5 days before you take it off the form to make sure its all the way dry.

Looking into my finished bowl. I really tried to pick different discs to put in it but next time I might sort them out by style before I get my fingers all gluey. It really does mess with your fingers so it was hard to sort through the farther I got into the glueing.

My finished bowl. I actually liked this project more then I was expecting. I did have some issues with the stiffness of the discs but I think if I make some selections and massage them a bit before I get started they might fit the form easier. I plan to do that with my next bowl. There are plenty of discs to make more bowls and I’m liking this size so I’m going to do some more like this and then I can share them around. I think they would be cute sitting on a jewelry shelf with bangles or something in it.

I really enjoyed my first Ann Williams Monthly Craft Box.  The projects were not over hard even though I did have some issues with the execution of them both some of that I expect was crafter error but there are more supplies so I’m going to give them both a second shot on a rainy day.  On the Ann Williams site you can buy the kits for these projects individually with the Paper Bowls kit at $17.99 and the Tassel Necklace Kit at $14.99 so getting the monthly subscription is a great value starting at $24.95 or less for longer subscriptions however if you decide you want more of a project and/or to grab some other ones then you can go to the site and check them out. They have a large selection to choose from.
