Urban Organic Gardener is a monthly subscription service that sends a collection of curated heritage garden seeds to your home at precisely the right time for growing them in your garden! When you sign up, you answer a few questions including how much experience you have with gardening; where your garden will be located; whether you plan to use containers, raised beds, land or hydroponics; and how much sunlight your plants will receive. Then the folks at Urban Organic Gardener consider where you live and put together a curated selection of organic seeds and send them to you.

Each month, your seeds will arrive along descriptions and information you’ll want to know when cultivating your plants from seeds.

For what it’s worth, this is what I told Urban Organic Gardener: I’m a beginner who plans to garden in my backyard in containers in full sun. Let’s see what they sent!

Although I’ve been using my own potting soil, I plan to try out these pellets this month (with the pellet directions in hand, I feel more empowered to use them!). Wish me luck!

I’m excited to add some green wave mustard to my garden. There’s something comforting to me about eating sauteed mustard greens, but without mustard on hand, I rarely make it. Hopefully, my family will enjoy it as much as I will!

Whether or not they go for the mustard greens, they’re sure to enjoy all year cauliflower. Every time I serve cauliflower, my son begs for more. This is sure to be a hit.

None of us are huge fans of beets, but we will drink their juice in drinks made with other fruits. These Chioggia beets look so beautiful that I wish I loved them more. Still, I’ll use this month’s Graze suggestions to try to sneak these in wherever I can.

This tango lettuce looks like an exciting way to spruce up our salads. I can’t wait!

I love cooking with thyme and can’t wait to add it to our in-ground garden at the back of our backyard.

Thanks to Urban Organic Gardener, I’ve been having so much fun in my yard each morning! My son joins me regularly, and I’m thrilled that he’s so excited to join me! We love monitoring (and admiring) our fruits and vegetables as they grow and bear fruit. Since I’ve started gardening, the wildlife in my back yard has really started to flourish. I regularly see bugs of all varieties, butterflies, bees, birds and even hummingbirds! Sometimes I just look out the window admiring them all. Today, I’m happy to report that we saw multiple monarchs descending upon the milkweed in our back yard! I’m thrilled to be receiving this subscription, and I can’t wait to see what they send me next month!
