Your first month will include a little cologne vial case and velvet holder. The case looks nice and is great for protecting your cologne when tossed in a gym bag or dopp kit.  You just twist it to spray.

Scentbird decants the cologne from the manufacturer’s bottle to a little glass vial with a 8 ml sprayer.  The colognes are 100% authentic, but the repackaging and single-month portioning saves you a ton on the price over the full bottle.

A card comes with the vial demonstrating use.  Twisting the case raises the vial, and the spray top makes application easy.  You can reuse the case for all your vials, swapping them out as often as you like.

The side of the vial is labelled clearly, but the case is pleasantly unassuming, with a clean look.

A card teases next month’s featured scent… Eau Inexplicable! You can choose to receive the featured fragrance if it sounds like your cup of tea, but what you receive the next month is determined by what you have in your queue.

My October selection was Cartier Declaration EDT!  It has a woody profile, with lots of spice and floral notes layered on top.  My first thought after spraying some on my wrist was that it reminded me of Indian food — the Guatemalan cardamom is readily noticeable and remains a major component of the scent. Bergamot is also very assertive, with cedar providing a warm base.  Caraway, cinnamon, and iris and toasty, spicy, and powdery accents.  The fragrance is warm, dry, and soft — ideal for a breezy summer afternoon.

I like that I can queue up the fragrances that interest me, and I can preview the composition and profile of each to see if it matches my tastes.  Each bottle has a ton of fragrance, and they are the real deal from the best designers, so you can try their newer offerings or revisit popular classics. FYI – there is no gender divide with this subscription – ladies can add men’s fragrances and vice versa, and you can share if you’d like, or get a second subscription if you find it impossible.
