The October Orange Glad is deliciously themed with Halloween treats. No tricks for us in this yummy box!
The Mayana Chocolate Kitchen Sink Bar ($7.00) is an extraordinary treat dipped in 66% dark chocolate. It is the perfect size for two people to share.
The decadent bar is bursting with peanut butter, pretzels, crispy rice, and Fleur de Sel Caramel. Mayana Chocolates is created by award-winning chef Daniel Herskovic and his wife Tamara who uses organic cream and no extracts in the chocolates. Only the freshest and best ingredients are used creating a bar that is sweet and salty surrounded by 66% dark chocolate.
The consensus was that it was sweet, full of caramel, and crunchy on the bottom. It had a slightly salty taste with a tinge of peanut butter. It was a superb treat!
The slow cooked Mayana Toffee was covered in almonds. I moved the loose almonds away from the photo and piled them back on afterward. It was a glorious blend of chocolate, caramel, and almonds that could be freely enjoyed without sticky to your teeth. The wonderful blend gave it an excellent crispy, crunchy, toffee flavor.
The Chocolate Ghost Lollipop by Tumbador Chocolate was a delicious milk chocolate ghost that hit the spot. It was the perfect after dinner treat. The chocolate had a wondrous milk chocolate taste that reflected the high-quality ingredients used to create this friendly ghostly treat.
The ghost wasn’t hard to bite into at all. I accidentally broke his little ghost arm pulling it out of the packaging. Tumbador Chocolate is a Brooklyn-based private label confectionery manufacturer founded by Executive Pastry Chef Jean-Franςois Bonnet.
Another delicious treat from Tumbador Chocolate! The chocolate PB & J Eyeballs showcases Chef Bonnet’s talent by creating a ghoulish Halloween treat out of old-time favorites. The eyeball is already oozing raspberry fruit puree.
The peanut praline and raspberry puree did not overpower the 42% milk chocolate. The tempting eyeballs had a creamy, chocolatey taste with a bit of peanut and jelly flavor. It was a fun Halloween treat!
The Chocolate Pumpkin Pie Soft Bake Biscotti by Marlo’s Bakeshop ($1.49) has pure pumpkin and Guittard chocolate chips along with a custom pie-spice all wrapped up in a delicious soft bake biscotti. The gourmet cookie had a pumpkin spice taste that was crunchy with a bit of yummy chocolate. Marlo’s Bake Shop items are made in northern California with Fair-Trade chocolate. Delicious, locally-sourced ingredients are used including non-GMO verified ingredients.
