I love sheet masks. They’re inexpensive, there are so many options, and they’re a nice way to unwind and relax with a bit of stillness, since you can’t move around too much when wearing one. Mask Box is a subscription box for Korean sheet masks that has five different styles depending on your need – Hydration, Anti-Aging, Brightening, Combo, and Luxury. You can also choose how many masks to receive. This is a review of the three mask combo box.

The packaging is pretty simple (but elegant – the envelope is sort of shimmery/opalescent) and the only information included is instructions on how to wear the mask.

Yumei Water Glow Skin Renewal Facial Mask – This mask was a nice thickness on the fabric and had a good amount of essence on it. I find most sheet masks focus on hydration, and this one was no exception! My skin felt hydrated and plump afterward. The benefits of this mask include whitening to help improve age spots, hyaluronic acid to hydrate, and stimulation of skin to produce collagen.

Aqua Black Skin Renewal Black Mask – OMG, this is actually a three step mask! Step 1 is a foaming cleanser – it smelled slightly medicinal. The second was a serum, which I applied and let sink into my skin for a couple minutes. The mask itself was a black sheet mask – a bit spooky to wear! I liked the additional steps for this mask; I would have normally cleaned my face anyway, but the ritual being spelled out for you added a bit of luxury to it.

LUS Vitamin Essence Mask – This mask is infused with vitamins. LUS has a ton of different masks! I liked this mask a lot because it fit my face well – the eye holes lined up with mine, and the mouth wasn’t so far away from the nose, which is a common problem for masks on me.

There are so many kinds of sheet masks, and admittedly I am not too picky about the ones I choose. I find them all to be hydrating and a nice burst of moisture, and unless they irritate my skin I don’t focus too much on the added benefits. I thought all three of these masks were comfortable to wear, had a generous amount of serum/essence to make it worth wearing 10-20 minutes, and didn’t experience any irritation or problems with my skin reacting. My favorite overall was the three-step Aqua Black mask, but I found the LUS mask to have the best shape of mask for my face.
