La Boite à Bonbons is a brand new candy subscription straight out of Montreal! For 25 CAD, you get 1kg (about 2.2lbs) of candies delivered to your mailbox. At the moment, they only ship to Canada. (Sorry!) Every month, you’ll be introduced to four different type of candies. When you subscribe, you get three choices: Sour (Bonbons Surs), Mixed (Bonbons Mixtes), and Sweet (Bonbons doux). Right when I opened my mailbox, I could smell the sweet aroma of candies!

This month, I’ve received a mixed box, so two sweet candies and two sour ones. Can I eat them already???
Look at these pretties!
Sour berries! My husband’s favorites! They are not overly sour, but I love sour candies so I’m biased. Each color is a different berry flavor, and they are chewy, but not sticky. They melt in your mouth like little pillows of sweet goodies. They almost have a marshmallow texture, but they are not marshmallows!

Sour Apple Slices! Taste like sweet and tart green apples. I can usually find these in grocery stores, but they are usually tough so I stay away from them even though I like the flavor. These have NOTHING to do with the grocery stores variety! They have a bite, but they are easy to chew and just fresh tasting!

Swedish berries! Once again, I can find Swedish berries in every grocery stores around here. They are quite popular and I actually bought snack size ones to give to kids on Halloween. But as for the sour apple slices, they don’t taste like the grocery stores ones! They have a milder taste, more chewy, less sweet. They have that nice little velvety touch, and they feel slightly greasy to the touch, like fresh candies! They are delicious!

Cola Bottle! When I hit the candy store, and that I spend way too much money on candies, I usually go straight for the sour cherry cola bottle. That means I always skip the humble juicy cola bottle gummies. Big mistake! They are great! They are not as soft as the other three candies in the box, but they are still very soft to chew. They have a very mild taste, the cola taste is not overwhelming.

Pretty candies! Tasty candies! I need to hurry up with the picture taking, my husband is hovering over the candies. And I kept sampling them. There won’t be any candy left by the end of the night.
I usually leave a bowl full of candies for our guests. It won’t happen with these guys because they were gone before dinner time. Seriously good candies! (And no self-control. Please, send more, j’en veux plus!!!)
La Boite à Bonbons is a great candy subscription box! The candies are fresh, tasty, chewy, and they don’t stick to your teeth! In this box, the sourness was not incredible, but it was there to enhance the flavors! I don’t know if they will include hard candies in the next boxes, but I would be fine with them sticking to the gummies. You don’t get to choose specific candies, but I think that is not an issue. I like trying different flavors and IF I get one I don’t like, I can always find someone who would enjoy that half a pound of candies!
This month, it was easy to figure out the candies without an information card. In the next boxes, I hope they’ll add at least the name of the candies.

You subscribe by clicking on “S’abonner” in the top left corner, you choose your type of candy (sour, mixed, sweet), and you add it to your cart ( “ajouter au panier” then “procéder au paiement”). Fill out your information and stalk your mailbox. It will be shipped a couple of days after your payment.
