Though we do eat meat, we cook vegetarian three times a week. Thankfully, Hello Fresh has a vegetarian subscription for both casual and dedicated vegetarians.
The boxes used by Hello Fresh keep all the ingredients for the recipes in order, and they stack nicely in the fridge.
Within each box, everything but the largest vegetables is separately packaged and is packed at the bottom. Condiments and canned goods are provided in high-end, commercial packaging. Hello Fresh usually provides spices in their own, pre-measured branded packaging.
Hello Fresh has great instructions, and they are easy to follow even if you are an inexperienced cook. There are even some kitchen tips included in the information card.

Simple name, simple recipe. Perfect for our lunch. Today is hubby’s birthday so we’re going out to eat tonight and I was looking at the recipe cards to see which would make a great lunch, I selected the right one. Not too fancy, not too filling (if I had eaten more it would have been) and of course, there are leftovers.
I used only a little of the Sriracha sauce so I wouldn’t burn my mouth the way I usually do. That sauce made for just a tad of hotness which went well with the other flavors.
You can’t tell by looking at the pictures that there are 2 scrambled eggs in this dish as they absorb the color from the rice and cabbage but the flavor and texture were there. I would classify this as an Asian dish with the rice, soy sauce, and vegetables. So get your chopsticks out and be ready for a scrumptious meal.
One-Pot Tortellini Wonder With Kale And Parmesan Breadcrumbs. 25-35 minutes, level 1, 720 calories per serving.
In the year and 1/2 that I’ve been getting Hello Fresh, I have to say that this is THE BEST dish ever. Why? Because I have 2 of the fussiest granddaughters and they both couldn’t get enough of this dish. I didn’t get much because of them but that’s ok, I’ll fill up on cake later.
I couldn’t believe it, these 2 (one is 15 and the other 9) loved it. The younger doesn’t like cheese but loved the tortellini. The other eats very little of what I cook and went back for 3rds!
Everything about this dish was good, ease, tastes, textures and the browned bread crumb mixture on top.

I was in a hurry and was able to pull off this recipe in the time that is printed on the card! I think a first for me as I usually take a lot more time but then I’m not a chef and chopping or shredding the veggies takes me a lot of time.
This had a unique flavor coming fro the Herbes de Provence, a blend of herbs from the southeast section of France. They usually contain savory, marjoram, rosemary, thyme, oregano, and other herbs. And I absolutely loved the honey-roasted sweet potatoes. I kept popping them in my mouth while they cooled and I was cooking the rest of the meal. It’s a wonder there were any left. They are almost like a snack.
I took this dish to our 95-year-old friend’s house to share with her, her daughter, and my parents. We all enjoyed this dish. It went well with the other cheeses, salmon and pumpkin muffins. What a great dinner to share.
