The full October box revealed!

20161105_150855

Black Radiance Deep Rouge Perfect Tone Lip Gloss ($2.99): This is currently on sale at BlackRadiance.com for $1.49! A berry flavored lip gloss that uses botanical extracts to moisturize lips. It also provides antioxidant protection. The formula is a little sticky and not as sheer as described.

This is the color on my bare lips. It is a pretty berry shade and will be nice when I want color, but don’t want to wear lipstick.

20161105_150955

Catherine Malandrino Romance de Provence Fragrance ($28.00/0.2oz.): A soft fragrance featuring pear and black currant. There are also middle notes of jasmine, rose and violet blossoms. This finishes with a base of vanilla, patchouli and tonka bean. While a nice blend, it was not for me and will be passed on. Using price per ounce, Cocotique’s price is way too high. You can buy a full 1.0 oz. bottle on Amazon.com for $65. Break that down and Cocotique should have valued this closer to $13.

Herbal Transdermal Deep Pore Mineral Toner ($15.00/8oz.): I received a 2 oz. bottle, approximately valued at $3.75. I thought this did a nice job toning my skin. It contains tea tree and wintergreen oils, both antiseptics known to help calm and treat irritated skin, as well as the antioxidant Vitamin C. However, I could not get past the scent of the wintergreen in the formula. It didn’t last long, but it was enough to bother me – I am sensitive to the scent.

There were also coupons for Herbal Transdermal for you and a friend.

Nubian Heritage Raw Shea Butter Body Wash ($12.99/13oz.):  There is so much moisturizing goodness in this bottle – shea butter, Vitamin E, soy milk, and coconut oil! I am holding on to this until the weather gets cooler and drier because my skin will need the nourishment of this wash. This was a 3 oz. sample, approximately valued at $3.00.

20161105_151331

Rich Radiance Cocoa Butter Treatment Mask ($9.99/5 count): This mask is valued at $2.00. It is very moisturizing. I preferred to use this before bed instead of using a night cream.

These sample packets are each valued at $1.25. Each one smells amazing, and that’s saying a lot because I don’t normally like coconut or vanilla scented body care. They did a good job of cleansing me without stripping my skin. There was enough in each packet for 1-2 showers depending on whether you use a poof or washcloth. (I always feel that washcloths hold body wash better.)

SheaGIRL Coconut Sugar and Vanilla Orchid Body Wash ($9.99/8oz.)

SheaGIRL Calendula and Lily Body Wash ($9.99/8oz.)

20161105_151422

Shea Moisture Mongongo & Hemp Seed High Porosity Moisture-Seal Shampoo ($10.99/13oz.): This made my hair feel really soft after washing, and the fragrance was pleasant and a little fruity.

Shea Moisture Mongongo & Hemp Seed High Porosity Moisture-Seal Masque ($12.99/13oz.): This had great slip and worked through my tangles easily. I noticed a difference in my hair after using this; it was smoother and shinier. The masque will be a great addition to my winter hair routine.

**BONUS** My DNA Curl Defining Custard ($9.99/8oz.): I received this back in my March Cocotique box – click here for review. I hold with my comments. “This definitely feels like you’re sticking your fingers in custard or pudding.  The alcohol-free formula is enhanced with Monoi de Tahiti and honey to lock in moisture to form beautiful, naturally enhanced coils, twists and curls that are not dry or flattened. It was too heavy for my fine hair, so will be gifted.

Subscribers received one of 6 items as a bonus in their box.  Other subscribers may have received Alikay Naturals Essential 17 Oil, Alikay Naturals Lemongrass Leave-In Conditioner, Straight From Eden Natural Oil-Infused Repairing Oil, Straight From Eden Natural Oil-Infused Leave-In Conditioner, or Nubian Heritage Honey & Black Seed Hand Cream.  Honestly, I wish I had gotten the hand cream because, for me, it was the most useful item of the bonus products.

Using the sale and lower prices that I found, this box has a value of nearly $38. That’s nearly double the cost of a single box. I think that Cocotique did nice job of curating products suitable for fall. As a fan of bath products, I was thrilled to receive so many body washes!
